Miami enters the game at 38-21 on the year and is 6-4 over its last 10 games. New York comes into the contest at 25-34 overall and is just 2-8 in its last 10 games, currently on the outside of the conference playoff picture as the 12th seed.

Miami Heat Betting Outlook

Despite battling a ton of injuries this year, Miami has still emerged as a favorite in the East and a legitimate championship contender in the NBA.

Going into the All-Star break, the Heat were without key pieces such as Dewayne Dedmon (personal), Tyler Herro (knee), Markieff Morris (reconditioning) and Victor Oladipo (right knee).

Even without those players, Miami has continued to battle atop the East standings with the Chicago Bulls, and should have Dedmon and Herro back into the lineup out of the break.

The insertion of Kyle Lowry alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo has worked out as well as Miami could have hoped. The trio has paced the Heat to top 10 ratings both offensively (seventh in offensive rating) and defensively (sixth in defensive rating).

The Heat have a 19-14 road record this season, winning five straight away from home ahead of Friday’s contest.

Knicks Continue to Struggle Late

The latest disappointment to New York’s season is its issue with giving up large leads.

They’ve already blown three 20-point leads this year, and in their last three losses, the Knicks have held double-digit advantages. it’s part of the reason the Knicks have been freefalling, losing 13 of their last 16 games.

Their last loss to Brooklyn was especially disheartening, as the Knicks coughed up a 28-point advantage, allowing the Nets to complete a comeback win that matched their biggest in franchise history. Over the last three games, New York has given up 28-point, 11-point and 23-point leads, all losses.

The Knicks ranks 16th in the NBA in defensive rating (110.5), with a plus/minus of -3.5 in the second half over the last 15 games. That’s the fifth-worst mark in the league.

New York has gone from a strong start to the season, to benching a once-key player in Kemba Walker and now struggling perhaps the most in the NBA.

Heat vs Knicks Best Bet

Both teams will come out of the All-Star break fresh and looking to kick off the home stretch of the regular season off on a strong note.

The Heat should be too much for the Knicks, extending New York’s struggles as of late.

When it comes to the best bet of the night, go with Miami as 4.5-point favorite. The Heat, who are 33-25-1 against the spread this year, should be able to take this game handily on the road against the Knicks.

  • The Pick: Miami -4.5 (-110)
