The Utah Jazz will travel to Phoenix to take on the Suns to close out the ESPN doubleheader Wednesday night (10:00pm ET).

The Jazz will be looking to get back on track after losing to the Mavericks 111-103 Monday night. Meanwhile, the Suns will look to stay hot after winning their last six straight games. The latest win was a 133-130 track meet over the Houston Rockets on Monday night.

Phoenix has won and covered both of the last two meetings, with the last one being a 106-95 beatdown on New Year’s Eve. The books are expecting Utah to get revenge as the latest odds are showing the Jazz as a 2-point favorite in this matchup. As always, there are plenty of props to consider.

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy

One guy in the NBA that doesn’t get the credit he deserves is Rudy Gobert. He goes out and gets 14 and 13 every night, and he is the engine that drives the Utah Jazz.

In his last seven games, he has a plus minus of +151. To put that into perspective, there are only 40 players in the entire NBA that have a better +/- this entire season.

Tonight Rudy will face DeAndre Ayton and the Phoenix Suns. As good as Ayton is, he is not quite on Gobert’s level. While the Jazz take the most three-pointers in the NBA, the Suns’ opponents don’t typically take that approach as they have seen the 10th fewest three-point attempts from opponents this season. That could mean more work for Gobert on offense.

The last time these teams played, the Jazz only attempted 34 threes which is 11 off of their season average. That only translated into a couple more Gobert attempts from the floor but that’s all bettors need as he is a high-percentage guy. He actually leads the NBA in field goal percentage at 65.6%. If he takes nine shots from the field again tonight, he is going over 14.5 points.

  • The Pick: Rudy Gobert Over 14.5 Points (-122)

Chris Paul Can Dish the Rock

Chris Paul is tied for fourth in the NBA in assists per game with 8.8 per contest. At 35, many expected he would slow down but he hasn’t. In fact, in his last 10 games, he’s failed to top eight assists only twice. In that span, he’s cracked double digits four times including each of his last three games. That feat has also put him in exclusive company.

The Utah Jazz are number one in the NBA in opponent assists per field goal made at 54.5%. While that is daunting, we have to keep in mind this is why we are getting a discount. The last time these teams met, Paul had eight assists and given the run he is currently on, he should get there again tonight.

  • The Pick: Chris Paul Over 7.5 Assists (-134)
