Odds as of June 20th

Mann Mans up Again

With Kawhi Leonard out, the Los Angeles Clippers were expected to fold like a cheap suit against the Utah Jazz. After all, being on the road, against the number one seed in the West without your best player is hardly a place any team want to be. Most teams don’t have Terence Mann on their roster.

After chipping in 13 points in 25 minutes in Game 5 win, Mann went above and beyond the call of duty in Game 6 with a career-high 39 points. He was special in every sense of the word and came through at a time when the Clippers needed him most. What stood out to me most was the number of shots he took as his attempts crept into the 20s.

Mann won’t sneak up on the Suns tonight but bettors really don’t need him to if they are looking at his made threes number. He has taken 15 attempts in two games with Leonard on the shelf and can be expected to keep up the volume today. If he takes six or seven today, it’s reasonable to expect him to can two of them. Given that we are getting +120, it is a bet worth taking.

The Pick: Mann Over 1.5 Made Threes (+120)

Embiid is at Home Tonight

Joel Embiid has been Jekyll and Hyde when looking at home-away splits in the Hawks-76ers series. At home, he has yet to score less than 37 points in any of the three games while on the road, he has yet to score more than 27 points in a game. Bettors are not the only ones to notice as he has as well and has even issued a guarantee.

The Hawks have done little to even slow Embiid down in Philly so far. We don’t need to rehash anything there. If you have two eyes and a functioning brain, you already know Embiid is a one man wrecking crew at the moment. He will be the focal point of the 76ers’ offense and is unlikely to be stopped. He should also play plenty of minutes give the Hawks’ ability to come back from seemingly any deficit.

The tricky part for today is finding a good price but with FanDuel’s alt lines, it is easy. Right now, we can get over 33.5 at +134 which is more than fine in my opinion. He only needs one more bucket than most bettors are getting but the payout is much better than the -110 being offered for that number. This is a good bet.

The Pick: Embiid Over 33.5 points (+134) *alt line
