Injury Report

Both Phoenix and Sacramento will be without a few players on their rosters for Wednesday’s showdown.

Cameron Payne (hamstring) and Dario Saric (ACL) are out for Phoenix, while Louis King, Neemias Queta, Jahmi’us Ramsey and Robert Woodard II are all out for Sacramento with G League assignments.

Kings Try to End Two-Game Skid

After starting the season off with a road victory over Portland on Oct. 20th, Sacramento has lost two straight home contests riding into Wednesday. The Kings fell to Utah and Golden State and now hit the road to face the Suns to begin a four-game road trip.

In three games, Sacramento has been able to put up points, but its defense is an area of struggle. Sacramento is averaging 110.7 points per game (13th in the NBA), but it is allowing opponents to score 116.7 points a game, which is 25th in the league.

As a team, the Kings are shooting 44.4% from the field and 32.5% from three. They’ve lived and died by the three in the early going: SacTo is shooting just 28% from deep in their two losses while shooting 41.5% from three in their lone win.

Individually, Harrison Barnes is averaging a team-best 28.3 points and 10.3 rebounds, De’Aaron Fox is averaging 18.7 points, 6.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds, and Buddy Hield has added 15.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Suns Try to Get Back on Track

Phoenix opened the season against tough Western Conference opponents, taking on the Nuggets, Lakers and Trail Blazers. Now the Suns open up a five-game homestand beginning with the Kings.

Like Sacramento, Phoenix has struggled defensively early in the year, allowing opponents to score 116.3 points on average, which is 24th in the NBA. The good news for the Suns is they have performed well defensively in one home game this year, giving up just 98 points to the Nuggets in a season-opening loss. While going up against a Kings team that can rack up points quick, the Suns will have to focus on shoring up those defensive issues.

The backcourt duo of Devin Booker and Chris Paul have been a nice pairing for Phoenix this season, with Booker leading the team with 18.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and four assists and Paul averaging a double-double of 14 points, 11.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds. That duo will be key once again for the Suns in order to come out on top .

Phoenix Claims High-Scoring Affair

Wednesday’s contest will feature two teams who are averaging around 116 points per game while ranking in the bottom third of the league in points allowed, setting the stage for what will likely be a high-scoring showdown.

When it comes to who will be the team that ends their losing skids to get back into the win column, Phoenix should be able to come out on top at home and the early betting odds reflect that prediction as well.

In looking for the best bet to place a wager, I’d recommend the over on that 226-point total. If the game is indeed a high-scoring contest as anticipated, Phoenix and Sacramento will likely surpass that mark.
