The second half of the NBA season is officially upon us after an exhilarating day of All-Star festivities on Sunday in Atlanta.
Most of the association officially returns to the hardwood on Thursday, with the exception of the Washington Wizards facing the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, March 10th, tip-off 8pm ET. Also, DeMar DeRozan and the San Antonio Spurs meet with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, tip-off 8:30pm ET.

Can Wizards Turn Things Around?
If Washington’s last game before the break was any indication, they could be heading in the right direction. Although the Clippers were missing Paul George, DC secured an impressive 119-117 win over LA. The Wizards were dominant in the paint and capitalized heavily on Los Angeles’ mistakes, collecting 27 points off turnovers.
The production outside of Beal and Westbrook has lacked, while Washington also sits towards the bottom of the NBA in three-point percentage. In their last 10 games though, the offense has been firing on all cylinders, averaging 120.2 points per night. However, defensively, Washington is allowing almost the same number of points per contest during that span.
The Grizzlies are also in the thick of things in the Western Conference with a 16-16 record. They’re 5-5 in their previous 10 matchups, including a win against Washington last Tuesday.
There’s been solid production outside of Ja Morant, who is leading the rotation with 19.8 points a night. Memphis has four other players averaging double-digits in scoring, including Dillon Brooks and Jonas Valanciunas.

The Grizzlies also struggle to shoot it from deep, sitting 21st in the league in three-point percentage. They’re around the middle of the pack in offensive and defensive rating though, while allowing just 110.8 points.
The Wizards have been solid ATS on the road, going 10-7. They’re also 15-10 as the ATS underdog. Memphis, on the other hand, is 6-5-1 as the ATS favorite. Both these teams are about even keel when it comes to hitting the over and under in points. But, given Washington’s ability to score lately and their lack of defensive solidity, I like them combining with the Grizzlies to hit the over here.
Considering the Wizards are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 appearances, It’s safe to go with them to capture another victory as well.

Dallas Looking to Extend Home Winning Streak
It wasn’t the best first half for the Mavericks, but they did head into the break with some much-needed momentum. Rick Carlisle’s team won three straight on home court, including a big win over a depleted Brooklyn Nets squad.
Offensively, MVP candidate Luka Doncic has been electric, dropping 28.6 points per night while also dishing out nine dimes and collecting 8.4 rebounds. Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr are also complimenting the Slovenian nicely with respectable numbers. Dallas has played well against their Southwest Division counterparts, going 4-1. They’ve already beat San Antonio this season back in January as well.
San Antonio has exceeded expectations to this point, going 18-14. They’re seventh in the Western Conference and 6-4 in their last 10 contests. The Spurs have enjoyed more success against Eastern Conference opponents though, going just 12-13 against teams from the West.
COVID-19 ravaged through San Antonio’s roster and they’re unfortunately still recovering. Gregg Popovich’s team has managed to win just two of their previous five games since a four-game absence from postponements due to the virus.

Both of these teams aren’t scoring a whole lot lately but on the other hand, they’re allowing less than 110 points in their last 10 appearances. Dallas has also hit the under in five of six games. The Mavs have gone just 8-12 as the ATS favorites this season as well.
San Antonio is a sharp 9-4 ATS on the road. DeMar DeRozan and co. are also thriving as ATS underdogs, going 12-6. Go with the betting trends and take a chance on the Spurs getting revenge against Dallas on Wednesday night. Also, expect this to be a lower-scoring contest.
