  • The red-hot Jazz have won nine straight games in a streak that has lasted more than three weeks
  • See the player props available below

Dallas will need everything Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis and the rest of the Mavericks have when they take on Utah Wednesday night. The Jazz won their ninth straight game last night over the New York Knicks, 108-94, and appear to be unstoppable right now.

The Mavericks started 2021 on fire, by winning five of their first six games, but have since lost five of their next seven.

Utah has won eight of the last ten meetings between the teams, but it was Dallas winning the last meeting 122-114 last August. In this matchup the Jazz are 4 point favorites and there are plenty of player props to consider.

Jordan Clarkson Is Not Afraid to Shoot

Over the last three games, no team in the NBA has attempted more three-pointers per game than the Utah Jazz. At 45.7 attempts, this is the definition of a “chuck-and-duck” offense. It’s not uncommon to see at least one member of the team take double-digit three-point attempts in a single game. None more so than Jordan Clarkson, who is the current front runner for the 6th Man of the Year Award.

In his past ten games, Clarkson has attempted at least 10 three-pointers four times. In two of those games, he tossed up nine shots from distance. He has the green light to take any shot he wants and he plays like he is on a constant heat check.

The Mavericks have been good at defending the three-point line all year, ranking fourth in the NBA only allowing opponents to connect at a 34.2% rate. But recently, that attention to detail has been nowhere to be found.

Over the past three games, just three teams have been worse in opponent three-point percentage than Dallas. They are allowing 43% which is not good news going into a road game with a chuck-and-duck team like the Jazz.

In Clarkson’s last ten games he has hit at least three 3-pointers eight times. On a night like tonight, given the situation, it makes sense to back him to do it again especially given the price.

The Pick: Jordan Clarkson Over 2.5 Three-Pointers Made (+132)

Joe Ingles Can Shoot as Well

When a team is shooting 40+ shots from long range a night, there are more players than just firing away.

Another player on the Jazz that lives behind the arc is Joe Ingles. The strategy is working as he is shooting the 3-ball at a 41.5% clip this season. He’s averaging five attempts per night which is the third most in his career.

Over his past six games, Ingles has taken at least four three-pointers in all of them. He has hit at least two in five of them. He is the exact type of shooter that easily gets lost in the shuffle when oppositions are paying more attention to Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic and Mike Conley. Ingles could and should hit multiple three-pointers in tonight’s game.

The Pick: Joe Ingles Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made (-122)
