We have come to the end of the 2020-21 NBA regular season. 30 teams will be in action today/tonight to send bettors off on a high note. Instead of being sad that it’s over, we should be happy that we have one more day of sweet, sweet NBA action.

ESPN will start us off early with a daytime doubleheader beginning at 1pm ET with the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks. When they finish, we’ll see the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Golden State Warriors at 3:30pm ET. If that’s not enough for us, we can tune in to NBA TV at 9pm ET and catch the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans get it on. There’s plenty of action on television today.

With this being the last day of the regular season, there will be all kinds of roster shenanigans. As a results, sports books won’t put out numbers until they have a better idea of who is playing. As of publish time, there were still no props available for the Celtics, Knicks, Pacers, Raptors, Suns, Spurs, Cavaliers, Nets, Rockets, Hawks, Magic, 76ers, Heat, Pistons, Timberwolves, Nuggets, Lakers, Pelicans, Bucks, Bulls, Jazz or Kings.

Odds as of May 16th

Tough Baze

Kent Bazemore made a lot of noise with his Bradley Beal comments earlier this week. The Internet seems to be piling on as Bazemore is nowhere near the player Beal is, but bettors can’t act like he’s a bum. When given minutes, Bazemore can get buckets for any team, although he won’t lead the NBA in scoring anytime soon.

Bazemore’s point total today is interesting as it’s only 11.5 for -110 at FanDuel. The Warriors and Grizzlies have everything to play for as the loser will have to play two play-in games. Both teams will likely run a playoff rotation meaning max minutes for everyone granted the game stays competitive.

Over his last three games that were decided by six or less points, Bazemore has gone over 11.5 in all of them. He’s taken at least 12 shots in each contest with at least three three-point attempts. With minutes in the mid-30s, Bazemore can expect 10-12 shots which makes his 11.5 point total very attractive.

  • The Pick: Bazemore OVER 11.5 Points (-110)

Westbrook the Assist Master

Russell Westbrook has been the triple-double god for a few years now and it’s still unbelievable what he’s doing. He’s putting up video game numbers every night like it’s nothing. He’s now the all-time NBA leader in triple-doubles and it’s a record that won’t likely be broken anytime soon.

It’s insane to take a guy to get over 14.5 assists but with Westbrook, is it? He’s done it in each of his last seven games and the Wizards benefit from a win today so his minutes should be locked in. The Hornets are 28th in the NBA in opponent assist per field goal made so the opposition is right for this one. Westbrook should get at least 15 assists for the eight straight game today.

  • The Pick: Westbrook OVER 14.5 Assists (-134)
