The Dubs, meanwhile, went toe to toe with LeBron and the Lakers, but a late dagger from the King sealed it for the defending champions, despite Steph Curry’s 37 points.
The Warriors won two out of three against the Grizzlies in 2020-21, including the final contest of the season. But in a one-off game, anything is possible. The winner of this meeting will advance to a first-round matchup with the Utah Jazz.

Another Big Night for Brooks
Surprisingly on Wednesday, Ja Morant wasn’t the X-factor for Memphis. It was Jonas Valanciunas and Dillon Brooks. The 25-year-old Canadian was stellar, dropping 24 points and playing extremely impressive defense.
From a scoring standpoint, Brooks was either attacking the rim at will or pulling up and hitting mid-range jumpers. If you watched the game, he was literally the most locked-in player on the floor. But that was no fluke. It’s been a trend for the former Oregon standout lately. He’s hit the over in points in four of his last five games while erupting for 30 last week against the Sacramento Kings.
Although Brooks hasn’t historically played that well versus Golden State, he is coming off a dominant performance. I expect him to be a key piece of the offense once again as the Grizzlies look to upset Steph and the Dubs.

Can’t Stop Curry From Downtown
Curry will likely go down as the greatest shooter ever and it literally doesn’t matter who he’s up against, the Warriors star will make it rain from deep. 6.5 threes is a very steep number, but Steph has really been that efficient at draining the long ball in the month of May.
He’s hit the over in five of his last nine games, including a 9 for 22 performance against Memphis in the regular-season finale. This is a game where Curry is going to need to be at his best and in order to do so, he’ll resort to the most lethal part of his game: shooting three-pointers.
The Grizzlies aren’t great at defending long-range attempts either, allowing opponents to shoot 36.7% this season, which is 17th in the Association. The stakes are high here. Expect Steph to step up heavily and find a rhythm from downtown. Take the over; it’s a worthy bet.
