  • There are eight games on the NBA slate for Monday, May 3rd
  • As always, player props are one of the most fun ways to get involved in the action
  • See available player props for the top players taking to the floor tonight within the story below

Today begins another week of betting the NBA and we’ve been blessed with an eight-game slate to get going. Eight games is generally the “sweet spot” because there is just enough to pick through without being overwhelming.

ESPN has us covered with a doubleheader so props to the mothership for looking out. First, it’s the Golden State Warriors are taking on the New Orleans Pelicans at 7:30pm ET. After that, we get the Los Angeles Lakers, who may be without LeBron James, taking on the Denver Nuggets at 10:00pm ET.

We all know that no matter the sport, player props are slowly taking over the betting landscape. They’re fun, they’re electric and they offer a different angle in sports betting. Check our the table to see some of the props available and then keep scrolling to see two that stick out the most.

As of publish time, there were no props available for the Pacers, Warriors, 76ers, Bulls, Spurs or Lakers.

Odds as of May 3rd

Trae Young Back in Action

Trae Young has been back for two games and he looks like he didn’t miss a beat. Young was out for four games with an ankle injury and in two games back, he’s delivered a 30-burger in each. One thing that has been noticeable is his uptick in attempted threes. He’s always had range, he just doesn’t always take a lot of shots from behind the arc.

In two games back, Young has taken at least six three-pointers in both games. Two-game sample sizes are not exactly what dreams are made of, but it’s all we have here. The most promising aspect is the fact that Young looks like he is fine with letting it fly which is all we can ask for at the moment.

The Trail Blazers are middle of the pack in terms of defending the three-point line this season. They are coming off of a game where they allowed the Boston Celtics to connect of 51% of their 39 three-point attempts. They look to be a fine attack surface for Young who has no problem jacking up a three. At +124, the price is right for Young to hist at least three tonight.

  • The Pick: Young OVER 2.5 Made Threes (+124)

Barrett the Passer

RJ Barrett is quickly becoming a cornerstone of the New York Knicks franchise. He’s playing confident ball and that has led to him playing at least 40 minutes in four of his last five games. In his second season, Barrett is finally getting the respect he deserves from not only his coach, but other players as well.

Barrett can score, we all know that. He’s gone over the 20-point threshold is three of his last four games and he is clearly the second option in New York behind Julius Randle. One aspect of his game that is going unnoticed by the books, is his passing.

In Barrett’s last five games, he’s recorded at least four assists in four of the games. He’s had at least five in three of the contests. Barrett will likely be on the floor for 40+ minutes tonight and if he is, he should fly over this assist number again.

  • The Pick: Barrett OVER 3.5 Assists (+116)
