  • Wednesday’s NBA schedule features nine NBA games
  • The red-hot Washington Wizards meet the Milwaukee Bucks in the headline game of the day
  • Read below for all projected lineups and injury news

Wednesday’s NBA schedule is a packed one. Nine games are on the slate, featuring contenders and playoff chasers in both conferences.

Fresh off another win over the Brooklyn Nets, the Milwaukee Bucks take on the surging Washington Wizards. Elsewhere, the Knicks and Nuggets do battle and the Utah Jazz face-off with the San Antonio Spurs as they look to reclaim the top seed in the Western Conference.

Speaking of the one seed, the Sixers are in a great position to secure home court through the East. They have an easy remaining schedule, including a game with the tanking Rockets on Wednesday. Currently top of the West, the Phoenix Suns take on an Atlanta Hawks team which is starting to get healthy.

NBA Injury News – May 5th

  • [8:30pm EST, May 4th] Malcolm Brogdon and Jeremy Lamb are both questionable for the Pacers
  • Hawks wing Bogdan Bogdanovic is probable, though De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish remain out
  • MVP favorite Nikola Jokic is probable to face the Knicks despite a sore right foot

May 5th NBA Projected Starting Lineups

Magic vs Celtics Projected Lineups

Magic
VS
Celtics
Cole Anthony PG Kemba Walker
Dwayne Bacon SG Marcus Smart
Gary Harris SF Evan Fournier
Moritz Wagner PF Jayson Tatum
Wendell Carter C Robert Williams
There have been some funky lineups thrown out by the Magic lately. This will continue Wednesday with Michael Carter-Williams (ankle), James Ennis (calf), Chuma Okeke (ankle), Terrence Ross (back) and Otto Porter (foot) all out. Jonathan Isaac and Markelle Fultz are, of course, sidelined for the year.

Boston is healthier than they have been for much of the season, but Jaylen Brown is unavailable for this one with a leg issue.

Cavaliers vs Trail Blazers Projected Lineups

Cavaliers
VS
Blazers
Collin Sexton PG Damian Lillard
Isaac Okoro SG CJ McCollum
Cedi Osman SF Norm Powell
Kevin Love PF Robert Covington
Jarrett Allen C Jusuf Nurkic
Larry Nance Jr (thumb) is out for the year, as is Taurean Prince. Darius Garland is listed as day-to-day, and missed Cleveland’s overtime loss to Phoenix on Tuesday. Isaiah Hartenstein (concussion) is unavailable, meaning big minutes for Jarrett Allen and Kevin Love could play some backup five.

It’s thought Damian Lillard will be available despite some bruising to his left foot. Norm Powell is listed as questionable, but there’s a good chance he played after clocking 32 minutes in the loss to Atlanta.

Rockets vs 76ers Projected Lineups

Rockets
VS
76ers
Kevin Porter PG Ben Simmons
Avery Bradley SG Seth Curry
Jae’Sean Tate SF Danny Green
Kelly Olynyk PF Tobias Harris
Christian Wood C Joel Embiid
The Sixers’ injury report is the quietest it has been all year. Furkan Korkmaz (ankle) is the only player to feature, which probably means more minutes for George Hill and Shake Milton. Doc Rivers will hope to put this game to bed early and rest Joel Embiid in the fourth quarter.

It’s a different story for Houston. John Wall, David Nwaba and Dante Exum are out for the year. D.J. Wilson (health and safety protocols) is unavailable, while Sterling Brown (knee) and Eric Gordon (groin) are sidelined through injury. Danuel House and D.J. Augustin (both ankle) are quesitonable.

Timberwolves vs Grizzlies Projected Lineups

Timberwolves
VS
Grizzlies
Ricky Rubio PG Ja Morant
Anthony Edwards SG Grayson Allen
Josh Okogie SF Dillon Brooks
Jaden McDaniels PF Kyle Anderson
Karl-Anthony Towns C Jonas Valanciunas
Having gotten healthy and put together some good performances, only Malik Beasley and Jarrett Culver feature on the Timberwolves’ injury report. Culver is done for the year, while it’s unclear if Beasley will return.

Jaren Jackson Jr is the only Grizzlies player set to miss out as they continue to manage his return from injury.

Pacers vs Kings Projected Lineups

Pacers
VS
Kings
Malcolm Brogdon PG Delon Wright
Caris LeVert SG Buddy Hield
Edmond Sumner SF Maurice Harkless
Oshae Brissett PF Marvin Bagley
Domantas Sabonis C Richaun Holmes
T.J. Warren and Myles Turner are long-term absentees for the play-in pursuing Pacers. JaKarr Sampson (concussion) is also out, while Malcolm Brogdon (hamstring), Goga Bitadze (ankle), Jeremy Lamb (knee) and Edmond Sumner (knee) are all questionable.

Rookie sensation Tyrese Haliburton will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. De’Aaron Fox (health and safety protocols) missed Tuesday’s game, as did Harrison Barnes (groin). Sacramento is on a surprise three-game winning streak, but they are expected to be without arguably their three best players on Wednesday.

Hawks vs Suns Projected Lineups

Hawks
VS
Suns
Trae Young PG Chris Paul
Bogdan Bogdanovic SG Devin Booker
Tony Snell SF Mikal Bridges
John Collins PF Torrey Craig
Clint Capela C Deandre Ayton
Cam Reddish (Achilles) and De’Andre Hunter (knee) are still sidelined. The Hawks have noted that Hunter is still not comfortable on his knee after surgery, and there’s no timetable for his return. Fortunately, they bolstered the wings in the offseason, and one such acquisition, Bogdan Bogdanovic, is probable for this game.

Jae Crowder (ankle) missed Phoenix’s overtime win over Cleveland on Tuesday. It’s unlikely he’s back here. Torrey Craig will get the start at the four.

Bucks vs Wizards Projected Lineups

Bucks
VS
Wizards
Jrue Holiday PG Russell Westbrook
Donte DiVincenzo SG Raul Neto
Khris Middleton SF Bradley Beal
Giannis Antetokounmpo PF Rui Hachimura
Brook Lopez C Alex Len
Jeff Teague and Axel Toupane are the only players on Milwaukee’s injury report. Both are listed as out. Playing on the second night of a back-to-back, though, bettors should be wary of rest here.

Washington has a clean bill of health outside of Deni Avdija and Thomas Bryant, who are unavailable for the foreseeable future.

Jazz vs Spurs Projected Lineups

Jazz
VS
Spurs
Joe Ingles PG Dejounte Murray
Royce O’Neale SG DeMar DeRozan
Bojan Bogdanovic SF Devin Vassell
Georges Niang PF Keldon Johnson
Rudy Gobert C Jakob Poeltl
All-Star backcourt duo Mike Conley (hamstring) and Donovan Mitchell (ankle) are out for this game.

For San Antonio, Derrick White and Trey Lyles (both ankle) are unavailable, with White likely ruled out for the season.

Nuggets vs Knicks Projected Lineups

Nuggets
VS
Knicks
Facundo Campazzo PG Elfrid Payton
Austin Rivers SG RJ Barrett
Michael Porter Jr SF Reggie Bullock
Aaron Gordon PF Julius Randle
Nikola Jokic C Taj Gibson

New York is facing a bit of a crisis in the middle. Mitchell Robinson (foot) is out for the season, while Norvel Pelle and Nerlens Noel (both ankle) are questionable. Taj Gibson could get the start at the five.

Mike Malone’s problems are of a different type. PJ Dozier has joined Monte Morris, Will Barton and Jamal Murray on the sidelines. Recently arrived Austin Rivers could get promoted to the starting lineup as a result.
