  • Only two NBA games take place on Thursday night with the Warriors in Orlando and Denver facing Oklahoma City
  • Steph Curry (26.5) has the highest over/under point total on Nov. 3
  • Read below for Thursday’s NBA player props and picks

Thursday is a relatively quiet day around the NBA, but the two games still provide plenty of value from a betting perspective. Steph Curry leads the struggling Golden State Warriors against first-overall pick Paolo Banchero and the Orlando Magic.

At 8:10 pm ET, reigning MVP Nikola Jokic takes on the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are riding an improbable four-game winning streak with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander playing at a very high level.

Pick #1: Klay Thompson Over 3.5 Threes

The Warriors are 3-5 to start the season and have struggled on this east coast road trip. The Warriors are still eight-point favorites for their matchup with the 1-7 Orlando Magic, however. While the defense has disappointed and the young players have struggled in the early going, the Dubs can take some confidence from Klay Thompson’s recent performances.

Having limited his basketball activity in the offseason, the four-time champion has nudged his minutes totals into the thirties in the last two games. Thompson has got up 19 field goal attempts in two of the last three games (both against the Heat), taking 26 three-point shots across those two contests. More plays are being drawn up for the five-time All-Star, and he caught fire for a period on Tuesday.

Golden State faces an Orlando team playing big. While they are not short on athleticism, they have a real challenge to cope with the off-ball movement of the Warriors. Orlando is in the bottom five in opponent three-point rate, and has been particularly vulnerable from the corners, with opponents hitting almost 50% of shots from below the break.

Thompson will not stop shooting, guaranteeing the volume will be there. He has also gone over this number in two of his last three, and his shot is bound to fall more frequently than it has to start the season. At plus odds, this is great value.

Pick: Klay Thompson over 3.5 threes (+128)

Pick #2: Nikola Jokic Over 21.5 Rebounds & Assists

Even in their 4-3 start, the Thunder have struggled to deal with big men. They are second-last in frequency of opponent shots at the rim, and for all the hustle of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Josh Giddey and Darius Bazley, Oklahoma City doesn’t have the frontcourt size to cope with a player like Nikola Jokic.

Oklahoma City conceded 30 to Wendell Carter Jr last time out, they saw Rudy Gobert go 17-for-24 from the field across two games, and witnessed Jokic drop a triple-double when these teams met earlier in the season. Jokic’s presence is what has the Thunder as six-point underdogs at home.

In games where Jokic has played over 34 minutes, including the win over Oklahoma City, he has passed this line in three of four. Just two teams concede more rebounds per game than the Thunder, while Jokic is again among the league’s premier playmakers, sitting fifth in potential assists per contest. The Joker is top 10 in defensive rebounding percentage, too.

The Thunder are going to have to throw extra bodies at Jokic when he gets the ball on the block, such is his ability to overpower their defenders one-on-one. The two-time MVP will pick out the open man regularly, and he will be the biggest player on the court for all of his minutes, making it an easy game for him to dominate on the glass.

Pick: Nikola Jokic over 21.5 rebounds and assists (-106)
