Bradley Braves Betting Trends

A 92-66 drubbing off the Missouri S&T Miners got the Braves off the snide. Bradley opened the season with back-to-back losses to the San Diego State Aztecs (81-65) and the Howard Bison (76-64).

Guard Terry Roberts led the way against San Diego State with 15 points. In the setback to Howard, forward Malevy Leons paced the Braves’ offense with 16 points. Forward Ja’Shon Henry, with 17 points, was among six Bradley players in double digits against the Miners. Roberts scored 15 points, Leons netted 13 points and Rienk Mast, Ville Tahvanainen and Jayson Kent each scored 10 points.

An official scoring change in the Missouri S&T victory ended up adding another rebound to the total of Braves forward Mast. That gave him 10 boards to go with his 10 points. It also made Mast the first Bradley player to open the season with three straight double doubles since Joe Allen in 1966-67.

For the season, Bradley is shooting 40.3% from the field. But the Braves are a disappointing 23.2% from beyond the arc. Roberts leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game, and five assists per game. Mast is pulling down 11.7 rebounds per game.

Colorado State Rams Betting Trends

The Rams are a dangerous club from long range. Colorado State is shooting 3-pointers at an impressive 44.3% success rate. Overall, the Rams are also shooting the lights out, with a field goal percentage of 57.1%.

Individually, forward David Roddy and guard Isaiah Stevens share the team scoring lead. Each is averaging 17.3 points per game. Roddy is also cleaning the glass, averaging 10 rebounds per game.

You could say that the Rams are golden so far this season. They opened the season with an impressive 109-80 verdict over the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, last year’s NCAA Tournament darlings. Colorado State followed up with a 20-point decision over the Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions (91-71) and an 88-62 verdict over the Peru State Bobcats, an NAIA school.

Bradley Braves vs Colorado State Rams Prediction

Following their impressive 3-0 launch to the season, Colorado State rose to the top of the Mountain West Conference power rankings. The Rams were the preseason pick to win the conference title.

Returning two starters and seven total letter winners from last year’s 12-16 team that finished eighth in the Missouri Valley regular season at 6-12, Bradley was picked to finish sixth in the league.

Bradley welcomed back Henry (illness) and Tahvanainen (foot injury) for the win over Missouri S&T.

The Rams are 55th in the KenPom rankings. Bradley comes in at #202. Colorado State also is showing the third-highest effective field goal rate (65.0) in the country according to KenPom. Equally impressive is the Rams’ No. 3 ranking in defensive block rate (27.1).

Pick: Colorado State Rams -11.5 (-110)
