Indiana Betting Trends

Freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino overcame illness and broke out of a shooting slump Saturday in the win over Ohio State.

Hood-Schifino scored a career-high 24 points as he made 8 of 12 field goal attempts, including six of nine on three-pointers. Hood-Schifino had all six trifectas in the first half when he scored 20 points to help stake Indiana to a 46-30 lead.

In his previous two games, Hood-Schifino shot a combined 3 of 17. He bounced back with his third game of the season with at least 20 points.

Hood-Schifino is averaging 12.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds a game for Indiana, which is fourth in the nation in field goal percentage (50.3), 20th in three-point shooting (38.4) and 37th in scoring (78.6).

Junior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, who has +5000 Wooden Award odds, continued his outstanding season with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. It was his sixth double-double in the last seven games and 10th of the season.

Jackson-Davis has season averages of 19.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 3.2 blocked shots. He leads the Big Ten in blocks, is second in rebounding and third in scoring and field goal percentage (58.6).

Freshman forward Malik Reneau had a big game off the bench. He established career highs with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Indiana shot 50% both overall (32 on 64) and on three-pointers (10 of 20) while committing just nine turnovers.

Coach Mike Woodson returned after missing one game following a positive test for COVID-19.

Maryland Betting Trends

Senior guard Jahmir Young has had no problem adjusting to playing in the Big Ten after transferring from Charlotte. He is averaging 24.0 points in Maryland’s five conference home games – and wins.

Young is averaging 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists a game overall. He led Maryland with 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists Saturday in the victory over Nebraska.

Maryland was 24 of 26 (92.3%) on free throw attempts. Young was 9 of 9 and senior guard Hakim Hart made all seven of his tries.

That helped the Terrapins overcome Nebraska shooting 53.3% (24 of 45) overall and 6 of 14 (42.9%) from long-distance. Maryland forced the Cornhuskers into 15 turnovers, converting the miscues into 20 points while also holding a 22-4 edge in points in transition.

Hart had 11 points – his season average is 11.6 – and five assists. In his last two games, Hart has registered 24 points, 13 assists and just two turnovers.

Senior forward Don Carey finished with 16 points, senior forward Donta Scott had 12 points and senior forward Patrick Emilien contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.

Scott is scoring 11.9 points and pulling down 6.4 rebounds a game. Sophomore forward Julian Reese’s averages are 10.4 and 6.4.

Maryland is shooting just 30.7% from beyond the arc, which ranks 325th nationally, but is 50th in three-point defense (30.8). The Terrapins are 41st in scoring defense (63.7).
