Odds as of March 23rd at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Anytime the ‘Zags are in action, you can bet freshman phenom Chet Holmgren is going to get a lot of attention. The projected top pick in this year’s NBA Draft is fresh off a 9-point outing versus Memphis in the Round of 32, and there’s reason to be pessimistic about his potential point production against the Razorbacks as well.

Pick #1: Chet Holmgren Under 14.5 Points

Arkansas enters play ranked 14th in the country in defensive efficiency, and has the size to bother Holmgren. The 19-year-old stands 7 feet tall but is a brittle 195 pounds, and will be giving up 25 and 45 pounds to the Razorbacks’ primary two front court defenders.

Holmgren has failed to exceed 10 points in four of his past seven games, and has seen preseason Wooden Award odds favorite Drew Timme dominate the Bulldogs scoring. Timme is averaging 28.5 points so far during March Madness compared to only 13 points for Holmgren.

If there’s a weakness on the Arkansas defense it’s along the perimeter but that’s not where Holmgren has been finding success lately. He’s averaging only 2.8 three-point attempts per game over his past five outings, going 1-for-14 (7%) during that stretch.

Pick #2: Azuolas Tubelis Under 10.5 Points

Our next target is the under on Azuolas Tubelis’ point total. The great thing about this wager is it has multiple outs. Tubelis is in head coach Tommy Lloyd’s doghouse, and didn’t see the floor in the second half or overtime in Arizona’s Second Round victory over TCU.

Tubelis has seen a sharp decrease in his opportunity lately which has capped his upside. He’s taken eight or fewer shots in seven of his past eight games, producing more than 9 points just three times. Now he has to face Houston, a team generating lots of buzz in the Final Four odds, and one that ranks 10th in defensive efficiency.

The Cougars have held their first two March Madness opponents to an average of 60.5 points per outing, and are fresh off limiting Illinois to 34% from the field. Houston ranks first in the country in opponent field goal percentage, holding enemy shooters to 44% inside the three-point line, and 28.8% beyond the arc.

Tubelis’ uncertain minutes and decreasing volume coupled with the Cougars’ elite defense makes this a clear under bet.
