Michigan State (13-6, 3-2 road, 5-3 Big Ten) ended its two-game losing streak by knocking off #23 Rutgers 70-57 on Thursday. Indiana (12-6, 9-1 home, 3-4 Big Ten) has won back-to-back games, including winning 80-65 at Illinois on Thursday, following a three-game losing streak.

Michigan State Betting Outlook

Junior guard A.J. Hoggard led a balanced attack in the win over Rutgers on Thursday as he had 16 points and seven assists. Michigan State had five players score in double figures.

The Spartans also knocked down 12 of 22 three-point attempts for 54.5%. They are 35th in the nation on deep balls at 37.8%.

Hoggard is averaging 12.7 points, 6.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds a game. He ranks second in the Big Ten in assists.

Senior guard Tyson Walker leads Michigan State in scoring with a 14.6 average. Senior forward Joey Hauser is scoring 13.4 points and grabbing 7.7 rebounds a game.

Hauser had 13 points, six rebounds and four assists on Thursday. Walker added 12 points and four dimes.

Freshman forward Jaxon Kohler had the best game of his fledging collegiate career. His 12 points and 11 rebounds were career highs and he also blocked three shots.

Sophomore guard Jaden Akins filled up many columns on the stat sheet with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Michigan State is scoring 75.8 points a game, which is 31st in Division I. The Spartans are 29th in three-point defense (29.5%) and 41st in shooting percentage defense (40.2).

Indiana Betting Outlook

Junior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis had one of the best games of his decorated career Thursday night in the win over Illinois.

Jackson-Davis finished with a season-high 35 points on 15-of-19 shooting. He also had nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks.

For the season, he has averages of 18.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rejections. He leads the conference in blocked shots, is third in scoring and rebounds and his 61.0 field goal percentage is second.

Jackson-Davis has +3000 Wooden Award odds.

Freshman guard Jalen Hood-Schifino is averaging 13.2 points, 4.5 assists and 4.3 boards a game. He is fifth in the Big Ten in assists.

Hood-Schifino had 10 points and four assists against Illinois. Sophomore forward Jordan Geronimo contributed 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists while shooting 6 of 8. Sophomore guard Trey Galloway chipped in with 11 points.

Indiana shot a season-high 61.8% (34 of 55) while holding Illinois to 38.7% (24 of 62). The Hoosiers also outrebounded the Illini 39-27 but had 17 turnovers.

Indiana is third in the nation in field goal percentage (50.9) and 39th in scoring (79.0).

Senior guard Xavier Johnson is fourth in the Big Ten with 4.9 assists a game. He has been out since Dec. 18, though, with a foot injury.

Michigan State vs Indiana Prediction

Michigan State has beaten Indiana three straight times, including 76-61 last season when Walker scored 15 points. The Hoosiers are poised to end that streak after getting back on track at Illinois.
