Michigan Betting Outlook

Junior center Hunter Dickinson is having another big season for Michigan. He is averaging 19.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.0 blocked shots a game.

In the Big Ten, Dickinson is third in scoring and blocked shots and fifth in rebounding and field goal shooting (57.5%). He had 15 points and seven rebounds against Lipscomb while shooting 6 of 9 from the field.

Michigan shot 50% (31 of 62) as a team. The Wolverines were playing for the first time following a nine-day break that came after they traveled 21,000 miles in the first 32 days of the season.

Sophomore guard Kobe Bufkin knocked down 8 of 9 shots to finish with a career-high 22 points. He made 4 of 5 from three-point range.

Bufkin is scoring 11.4 points and dishing 2.8 assists a game.

Freshman guard Jett Howard added 19 points and junior forward Terrance Williams II chipped in with 11 points. Howard is averaging 15.5 points and 2.5 assists.

The foul line has been a problem for Michigan this season. The Wolverines are 302nd in the nation with a 66.3 free throw percentage.

North Carolina Betting Outlook

North Carolina senior forward Armando Bacot going up against Dickinson should be an interesting matchup.

Bacot is averaging a double-double with 17.5 points and 11.6 rebounds a game. He leads the ACC and is fourth in the nation in rebounds and fourth in the conference in scoring.

Bacot had a big game on the big stage of Madison Square Garden on Saturday with 28 points and 15 rebounds. It was his fifth consecutive double-double and seventh of the season.

Junior guards Caleb Love and RJ Davis are having fine all-around seasons.

Love leads the ACC in scoring and has averages of 18.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. Davis’ numbers are 15.7, 5.4, and 3.1.

Against Ohio State, Love scored 22 points and had seven assists. Davis finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

Senior forward Pete Nance, who is averaging 12.6 points and 6.7 rebounds, hit a turnaround jumper at the buzzer for North Carolina to force overtime. The Tar Heels then outscored the Buckeyes 10-5 in the extra session.

North Carolina won despite making just 6 of 28 shots from distance for 21.4%.

The Tar Heels are 33rd nationally in scoring offense with 81.6 points but 310th in scoring defense with a 74.4 average.

Michigan vs North Carolina Prediction

North Carolina rolled to a 72-51 victory over Michigan at home behind Love’s 22 points. While this is technically not a home game, it figures to be a pro-Tar Heels crowd. North Carolina also seems to be over its early-season woes.

Lay the points.

Pick: North Carolina -4.5 (-110)

Season Record: 16-9 ATS (+6.1 units), 0-3 MLB (-3.0 units)
