Oklahoma vs Baylor Props – Best Player Prop Bets

#2 Baylor (9-0, 2-0 Big 12) is one of the few undefeated programs remaining in college basketball, and they’ll put their nine-game winning streak on the line Wednesday (Jan. 6, 9 pm EST) against Big 12 rival Oklahoma (6-2, 2-1 Big 12).
Oddsmakers are not expecting a particularly close affair, with the Bears currently favored by 11-points, but there’s more than one way to wager on this matchup.
Online sportsbooks have released a series of player props ahead of this conference clash, and we’ve identified our three favorites below.

Prop #1: Adam Flagler Under 10 Points
Baylor guard Adam Flagler started the season off on fire. The Sophomore opened the campaign by scoring in double figures in five consecutive games, but lately he’s disappeared from the offense.

Since missing a handful of games for undisclosed reasons (presumably COVID related), Flagler has scored just five total points in the Bears’ last two contests, despite logging at least 22 minutes in each outing. Last time out versus Iowa State, he has held scoreless in 26 minutes of action, missing all three of the shots he took.
Playing time is never an issue, as he averages over 20 minutes per game off the bench, but his shot attempts have been trending down ever since the start of December. He’s attempted seven or fewer shots in four straight games, and in order for him to reach double-figures he’s going to need to be ultra efficient.

The Sooners meanwhile, have been playing much better defensively lately, holding each of their last five opponents below 72 points, including back-to-back ranked Big 12 foes in West Virginia and Texas Tech.

Prop #2: Jared Butler Over 15 Points
Flagler’s teammate Jared Butler on the other hand, is someone we might want to back in this contest. The Junior guard leads Baylor in points and shot attempts, and is knocking down 45.7% of his long distance looks this season.

Butler has scored in double figures in all nine Bears games this season, averaging 16 points per outing, while shooting 50% from the floor. He has point totals of 21, 17 and 17 his last three outings, and he dominated Oklahoma last time he faced them. Back in February of 2020, he poured in a game-high 22 points against them, while knocking down five of his 13 long distance looks. If there’s an area to exploit on the Sooners defense it’s from beyond the arc, as they’re allowing opponents to shoot 42.4% from 3 this season.

Prop #3: Brady Manek Under 13.5 Points
Oklahoma is led offensively by a pair of Seniors in Austin Reaves and Brady Manek, but Manek stands out as a player we should be fading against Baylor. The 6-foot-9 forward has been ice cold recently, tallying 13 or fewer points in four of his past five outings.

He’s been especially underwhelming against quality competition, posting only 7 points last time out versus #14 West Virginia, and just 2 points in a loss to #18 Texas Tech. Normally a lights out 3-point shooter, Manek is just 5-for-20 from beyond the arc over his last four games, and a matchup with the #2 Bears isn’t likely to solve his shooting woes.
Baylor is allowing a Big 12 low 62.6 points per game, and has held four of nine opponents below 57 points. They defend the 3-ball very well, and no program in the conference rebounds better in their own end. That last note is especially significant versus Manek and the Sooners, because it limits their chances for easy put backs and second chance points.
Historically, Manek hasn’t fared particularly well against the Bears defense, posting more than 11 points only twice in six career matchups. The last time he square off against them, he knocked down just four of his 11 attempts, and I’m betting on him struggling from the field yet again.
