Cunningham made 12 of 21 field goal attempts and was 13 of 14 at the foul line. He also had 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

Sophomore guard Avery Anderson III had 15 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Cowboys. Senior guard Bryce Williams contributed 15 points and freshman guard Rondel Walker added 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Oklahoma sophomore guard De’Vion Harmon scored 23 points. Senior guard Austin Reeves was right behind with 22 points, eight assists and six rebounds.

Also scoring in double figures for the Sooners were junior guard Umoja Gibson (14), junior guard Elijah Harkless (10) and senior forward Kur Kuath (10). Harkless added five steals.

Oklahoma State held a 42-28 advantage in rebounds.

The Real Deal

Cunningham arrived in Stillwater as the highest-rated recruit in Oklahoma State history. He has not disappointed. KenPom.com ranks him as the third-best player in the Big 12 after Baylor’s Jared Butler and West Virginia’s Derek Culver.

Cunningham is averaging 19.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals. He is accounting for 28.9% of Oklahoma State’s possessions when he is on the floor.

The double-double Saturday was Cunningham’s second of the season. He debuted with a 21-point, 10-rebound effort against Texas-Arlington on Nov. 25.

Prior to Saturday, Cunningham’s top scoring game was 29 points against Oral Roberts on Dec. 8. He has scored at least 20 points in 10 of his 20 games and been in double digits in all but one.

Anderson is the only other Oklahoma State player with a double-figure scoring average at 10.2. He is also an 87.8% free throw shooters.

Six Cowboys are scoring at least 9.0 points a game, including junior guard Isaac Likekele (9.8). He missed Saturday’s game with a hand injury, though, and is questionable for the rematch.

Reaves Shining as Senior

Reaves is having a senior season to remember for Oklahoma with averages of 17.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He is also shooting 86.6% from the foul line.

In each of his last four games, Reaves has scored at least 20 points and is averaging 23.8 during that span. He has been over 20 seven times this season and in double figures in 18 of 19 games.

Harmon has a 13.0 scoring average. His 23 points Saturday matched a career high set in his collegiate debut last season against UTSA.

Gibson has been a solid addition after transferring from North Texas. He is averaging 10.4 points a game and has committed just 15 turnovers in 560 minutes.

Bedlam II

This is the first time the two schools have faced each other back-to-back in The Bedlam Series since 1943.

Oklahoma found Cunningham too much to handle Saturday, even with defensive ace Harkless guarding him. It is difficult to see how the Sooners will stop the likely No. 1 pick in this year’s NBA Draft the second time around.

Pick: Oklahoma State +1 (-116)
