Ohio State vs Michigan has been cancelled.

The decision robs the Wolverines of the opportunity to pull off a historic upset. Despite the biggest rivalry sitting this one out, this weeks Upset Picks still feature two games in the Big Ten Championship race as well as one from the ACC.

#17 North Carolina +3 (-108) +116 O 67.5 (-113)
#10 Miami FL -3 (-113) -141 U 67.5 (-108)

Expect Shootout Between Tar Heels & Hurricanes

This one should be fun. North Carolina is an inviting moneyline pick for several reasons. The Tar Heels rank 12th in college football putting up 41.1 points per game. The OVER is 4-1 in their last five games and if this ends up being a high scoring affair, trusting the North Carolina offense is the smart play.

They rank top 20 in both passing and rushing yards. Quarterback Sam Howell has been sensational tallying 3,129 yards through the air and 26 touchdowns. On the ground it’s been the dynamic duo of Michael Carter and Javonte Williams that keep opposing defenses on edge. Carter and Williams have combined for 1,841 yards and 23 touchdowns in ten games this year. Miami has a good offense, North Carolina has a great one. Trust the team more polished offense to win this ACC affair.

The Pick: North Carolina Moneyline (+116)

#16 Wisconsin vs #19 Iowa Week 15 Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
#16 Wisconsin -1 (-113) -118 O 43 (-113)
#19 Iowa +1 (-108) -104 U 43 (-108)

Hawkeyes Take Aim at Sixth Straight Win

Before making the case for the Hawkeyes, let’s acknowledge that yes this is about as narrow an underdog you’ll ever find. Technically, it is an upset pick though, and while the value may not be sky high, it’s a sound selection.

Iowa is one of the hottest teams in all of college football right now. They have won five straight games by a combined 110 points. The opponents haven’t been pushovers either. The streak includes victories over Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State, Nebraska and Illinois.

One thing you’ll notice about this game, the total is extremely low. The reason for that is Iowa’s ability to control the clock. Their running back tandem of Tyler Goodson and Mekhi Sargent have combined for 1,037 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. They have the ability to go on prolonged drives which has been a key to success.

Despite their success on the ground they line to throw the ball as well. Seven different Hawkeyes players have double digit receptions on the season. Look for Iowa to keep drives alive and put up points at a rate more than good enough to earn the victory in this one.

The Pick: Iowa Moneyline (-104)

Minnesota vs Nebraska Week 15 Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Minnesota +11 (-113) +285 O 59 (-109)
Nebraska -11 (-108) -375 U 59 (-112)

Minnesota Looking to Finish Season .500

Minnesota should be one of the most well rested teams in the history of college football. They haven’t played in three weeks and finally return to the field against Nebraska this weekend. The Golden Gophers need a victory to finish the year .500 and despite being 11-point underdogs, there’s a path to victory.

Tanner Morgan was sensational last year but need to up his game in a big way. He has only four touchdowns and four interceptions in five games and has yet to have a performance with more than one score. Minnesota has no reason to hold anything back in their finale, and it’s likely they’ll open the entire play book to make sure their star quarterback ends on a high note.

2019 Big Ten receiver of the year Rashod Bateman has officially opted out for the season. He’ll be a player in the NFL going forward and the Golden Gophers will miss his services. He had 47% of the teams receptions this year and will be tough to replace. That said, Chris Autman-Bell is more than capable of picking up a large part of that slack. His response to being thrust into the WR1 role? “I’ve still got to be the same person I am – be a superhero”. Tough not to like that swagger.

They also have Doak Walker Award nominee Mohamed Ibrahim in the back field. He leads the conference with 817 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Expect Autman-Bell and Ibrahim to help Morgan have one big game to close the season.

The Pick: Minnesota Moneyline (+285)
