  • After what feels like an eternity, the College Football season is getting underway on August 28th
  • To celebrate Week 0 there are a number of great promos for new bettors across the online sportsbooks
  • See the offers available to claim in your state and the best ways to use them below

For the first time since January 11th, competitive college football will be played this weekend. Our seemingly never-ending wait is over!

Week 0 features a sextuplet of games for bettors to get their feet wet on before the fiesta that is Week 1 over Labor Day weekend. FOX kicks off the action with Nebraska vs Illinois at 1pm EST in Bret Bielema’s debut, where they will be slight home underdogs. ESPN then picks up at 3:30pm EST, as Chip Kelly’s Bruins face the Rainbow Warriors of Hawaii in a tune-up before they face LSU at the Rose Bowl next week. UCLA are near three-touchdown favorites for that one.

With those two games as the headliners, there’s no better time to get registered with a sportsbook in your state and have a little sweat on the action. To ring in a new season, many of the books are offering intriguing promotions to new users, which you can see in the table below.

Best College Football Betting Promos for Week 0

DraftKings Bet $1, Get $200 Free for Week 0

The folks at DraftKings have the absolute easiest promo of the week, and a no-brainer for new users. All you have to do is deposit at least $5 in to your account, bet a dollar or more on a game this weekend and you will be credited with $200 in free bet credit.

This promotion also runs through the mid-week games to begin Week 1, but if you get your registry in this weekend you can build up your bankroll quite nicely ahead of that feast of action.

Once you’ve claimed your credit, consider taking Hawaii +17.5 against UCLA, as the Bruins have failed to cover in their last two non-conference home games as betting favorites.

Caesars Sportsbook $5,000 Risk Free Bet Upon Registry

Caesars is celebrating their re-launch for football season in style, as they are offering new users a risk-free bet of up to $5,000 to use in the opening weeks of the season.

That’s right – risk free! Place your bet up to $5,000, and If you lose, your stake will be credited back to you. Hit the link below to head to Caesars, set up your account, and place your first bet.

With the wager coming risk free, your best bet for Week 0 comes in Champaign, as the Fighting Illini will look to make it two in a row against the Cornhuskers of Nebraska. With Scott Frost in the midst of an NCAA investigation and Bielema making his coaching debut, Illinois is likely to come out on fire as +220 underdogs.

PointsBet Week 0 Promos

There’s a smattering of promos PointsBet is offering to kick off the college football season, with two of them specifically being of use to bettors in Week 0.

The first offer is for users to place a $25 moneyline bet on a team of their choice, and receive $250 in free bet credit if they win. With some of the spreads you can see in the college football odds for Saturday, it would behoove bettors to use this on Fresno State (vs UConn), UTEP (vs New Mexico State) or San Jose state (vs Southern Utah).

There’s also a specific offer on Big Ten games – which will come in handy as Nebraska and Illinois clash at noon in the central time zone. If you bet $10, you’ll receive $125 in free bets as long as 1+ point is scored during the game. We know the Illini and Cornhuskers aren’t exactly juggernauts on offense, but you can count on more than a single point being scored. Head over to PointsBet if you’re in CO, IL, IN, IO, MI or NJ to claim this promo.
