The College Football Playoff National Championship Game is finally here. #1 Georgia was on everyone’s shortlist to make it back to the title game, but they needed a small miracle in order to pull off the feat. Read on for some Georgia vs TCU Props.

#3 TCU on the other hand, dismantled #2 Michigan in a contest that was nowhere near as close as the final score might suggest. The Horned Frogs hung 51 points on the Wolverines and didn’t need to rely too heavily on Max Duggan’s arm to do so.

That likely won’t be the case on Monday, January 9 (7:30 pm ET), as TCU is a sizeable 12.5-point underdog. That suggests the Horned Frogs are likely going to be in catchup mode all evening, which will force a more pass-centric game script.

Duggan currently boasts a passing yards over/under prop of 233.5, 47 yards lower than Georgia’s Stetson Bennet’s. Duggan is also a heavy favorite to throw a pick, something he did twice against Michigan.

Prop #1: Max Duggan Over 233.5 Passing Yards and 0.5 INT

The Horned Frogs QB was intercepted twice on just 29 attempts. That marks three INT over his past two starts, and at least one pick in three of his last four outings.

As Duggan’s volume goes up, the likelihood of an interception increases. It’s highly unlikely that TCU gets out to a big lead again like in the Fiesta Bowl, and in tight games, Duggan has flashed a high passing yardage ceiling.

In games that the Horned Frogs have lost or won by a single score, Duggan has thrown for at least 251 yards five times. The Bulldogs just coughed up 348 passing yards to Ohio State in the Peach Bowl, so perhaps their secondary isn’t quite as strong as their season-long marks suggest.

Duggan’s passing yards prop is as high as 240.5 at other leading online sportsbooks, so grab over 233.5 now before it’s gone.

Pick: Max Duggan Over 233.5 Passing Yards (-115 DraftKings), Over 0.5 INT (-178 FanDuel), 1 unit each

Prop #2: Daijun Edwards Over 45.5 Rushing Yards

There’s also loads of value on over 45.5 rushing yards for Georgia’s Daijun Edwards. That line is 4 yards higher at other online sportsbooks, and it’s a number he’s cleared in four straight outings.

Daijun Edwards Rushing Stats – Last Four Games

ATT YDS AVG TD
8 58 7.3 0
12 77 6.4 0
8 57 7.1 0
14 50 3.6 0

Edwards is sharing carries with fellow RB Kenny McIntosh, and while the ladder gets the majority of reps there’s room for both to put up big numbers on Monday. The Bulldogs average 37 rushes per game and 5.6 yards per attempt.

TCU meanwhile, ranked 67th versus the run leading up to the CFP and coughed up 186 rushing yards to the Wolverines last time out.

Pick: Daijun Edwards Over 45.5 Rushing Yards (-114 FanDuel), 1 unit

As far as the anytime TD market goes, McIntosh and both TCU running backs are tied for the shortest odds.  A little further down the board, we’ll find Quentin Johnston, who looks like a strong value.

Prop #3: Quentin Johnston Anytime TD

Johnston is a rising stock on the NFL Draft scene and boosted his profile even further with a big Fiesta Bowl performance. He hauled in six catches for 163 yards, scoring for the sixth time in his last eight games.

We already detailed how we expect Duggan to need to throw early and often on Monday, and when he does Johnston will be his top target. Johnston led the team in receiving yards and TD this season, earning a 23% target share.

Pick: Quentin Johnston Anytime TD (+100 DraftKings), 1 unit
