Georgia is off the board on the moneyline in the college football odds, giving them almost a 100%  implied probability to win.

Georgia Tuning Up For LSU

Now, Head Coach Kirby Smart has seen his Bulldogs struggle on offense at times this season. He knows his Georgia team brings the top defense in the nation (11 points per game allowed). Still, the Bulldogs are 11-0 (8-0 in the SEC East). Georgia averages 38.4 points per game and are getting tuned up for a meeting with LSU next week. Last week, the Bulldogs continued their winning ways by defeating Kentucky on the road 16-6.

Yes, Stetson Bennett, looked human last week against the Wildcats. He threw just 19 passes as Georgia ran for well over 200 yards. The Bulldogs dominate the line of scrimmage like few teams this decade. They may be even scarier than Alabama.

Now, this is really Georgia’s only glaring weakness. The Bulldogs settled for three field goals against Kentucky along with their one touchdown. Scoring expects to be far less a problem against Georgia Tech. At least, that is the idea. On the other hand, that total is set at 49 for a reason. The Bulldogs are likely to give up ten points or less on Saturday. However, can they score some points as they get ready for the SEC Championship?

The key for the Bulldogs is fostering balance while punching the ball in the end zone. They have the line and the talent. Georgia needs the execution. Even Stetson Bennett should find the end zone this week. He had nine touchdowns in four previous games before the goose egg in Lexington.

Georgia yields a mere 272.1 yards per game, has a Butkus Award candidate in Jamon-Dubas Thompson, and Adonai Mitchell may see more reps. The rich get richer.

Georgia Tech Hopes For A Miracle

Interim Head coach Brent Key understands the game against Georgia is almost impossible to win. Georgia Tech stands at 5-6 and a win would get them bowl eligible. In a sense, this is their bowl game and national championship. Key has the Yellow Jackets playing improved football.

Yes, moral victories soothe little in a rivalry dominated so much by the opposition. Georgia Tech has won just three of the last 20 matchups (last win was in 2016). The previous four meetings have been ugly.

Georgia expects to teach Brent Key and Georgia Tech a lesson. However, Key has managed to upset two ranked teams on the road (including North Carolina last week). The Yellow Jackets feel more comfortable on the road (4-2 but 1-4 at home). Georgia Tech came back from down 17 points in their biggest win of the season.

The key remains simple for Georgia Tech. Making Georgia uncomfortable is their main goal. The longer they stay close, the better chance they have of covering.

Georgia Tech’s preseason NCAAF win total of 3.5 victories was exceeded a few weeks ago.

Georgia vs Georgia Tech Prediction

Most pundits have Georgia winning on Saturday quite easily. They will be ready for a fight from Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech getting 35.5 points seems a lot given how much Georgia does struggle in the red zone at times. This could be quite close.

Pick:  Georgia Tech +35.5 (-110)
