LSU will look to stay in control of the SEC West race when it visits Arkansas at 12 p.m. ET Saturday at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

By upsetting visiting Alabama 32-31 in overtime last week, LSU (7-2/5-1 SEC/2-0 road) moved to the top of the division standings. The Tigers have the head-to-head tiebreaker on both Ole Miss (5-1) and the Crimson Tide (4-2). LSU is on a three-game winning streak.

Arkansas (5-4/2-3 SEC/3-2 home) is just hoping to become bowl-eligible after being upset by Liberty 21-19 last week at home following back-to-back wins.

LSU is a three-point favorite and has a 61.54% implied win probability as a -160 pick on the moneyline in the college football odds. The Tigers’ national championship odds are +3300.

It figures to be a chilly day in Fayetteville with sunny skies, a high of 43 and north wind at 5-10 mph.

LSU Betting Outlook

Jayden Daniels led the way in the win over Alabama, LSU’s second straight over a top-10 team after beating Ole Miss the previous week.

Despite being sacked six times by the Crimson Tide, Daniels completed 22 of 32 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns. His biggest throw was a two-point conversion pass to true freshman tight end Mason Taylor in overtime to give LSU the win.

The conversion came after Daniels scrambled 25 yards for a touchdown that got LSU within one point. He finished with 95 yards in 18 attempts.

The game featured six lead changes in the second half before Alabama sent the game to overtime on a field goal with 21 seconds left.

A transfer from Arizona State, Daniels has played a major role in LSU’s successful first season under coach Brian Kelly. LSU’s decision to lure Kelly with a 10-year, $95-million contract to Baton Rouge from Notre Dame has looked good despite the Tigers losing to Florida State 24-23 in their opener.

Daniels has thrown for 1,994 yards and 14 touchdowns, has a 69.8 completion percentage and been intercepted only once in 268 attempts. He also leads the team with 619 rushing yards and 10 TDs in 131 attempts.

Daniels is second in the SEC in rushing touchdowns and fifth in passing yardage. His Heisman Trophy odds are +1600.

Daniels’ favorite target is Malik Nabers, who has 42 receptions for 504 yards and one score.

Arkansas Betting Outlook

Arkansas also has a dangerous dual-threat quarterback in KJ Jefferson, who leads an offense averaging 483.5 yards a game, which is 13th in the FBS. However, running back Raheim Sanders is also putting up impressive numbers.

Sanders leads the SEC with 1,101 yards rushing on 171 carries. He has scored seven touchdowns on the ground.

Liberty found a way to slow Sanders and the Razorbacks’ rushing attack last week. The Flames held him to 60 yards and 17 carries and Arkansas had 144 rushing yards, 100 below its season average.

Arkansas also had 14 negative-yardage plays.

Yet Jefferson rallied Arkansas from a 21-0 deficit in the second quarter. The Razorbacks cut the deficit to 21-19 on an 8-year touchdown pass from Jefferson to Trey Knox with 1:11 left but Liberty stopped the QB on the two-point conversion attempt.

Jefferson finished 23-of-37 passing for 284 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions. He has completed 2/3 of his 222 attempts this season for 1,981 yards, 17 TDs and three picks.

On the ground, Jefferson has 425 yards and six scores.

Matt Landers had 35 receptions for 594 yards and three touchdowns while Jadon Haselwood has 44 catches for 553 yards and three scores. Landers had six catches for 119 yards against Liberty and Haselwood 8 for 86.

Arkansas’ defense has struggled throughout the year and is 120th in the nation with an average of 442.4 yards allowed a game.

LSU vs Arkansas Prediction

Arkansas ended a five-game losing streak to LSU last season with a 16-13 victory in Baton Rouge. However, the Tigers are rolling this year and Daniels figures to be too much for the Razorbacks’ porous defense to handle.

The Tigers are now the second-favorite in the odds to win the SEC and are eying a spot in the conference championship. The best bet for LSU vs Arkansas is taking Brian Kelly’s team to cover.

Pick: LSU -3 (-110)
