Cowboys Running Game Key To Success
Oklahoma State lost star running back Chuba Hubbard when he bailed to prepare for the NFL draft. Hubbard was actually a disappointment this season, rushing for only 625 yards one year after leading all of college football with 2,094 yards. That said, Oklahoma State would love to have him out there in this game.

The Cowboys have turned to a committee approach to replacing Hubbard. The lead back the first two games was Dezmon Jackson. The junior racked up 353 yards in a pair of impressive performances. In Oklahoma State’s win over Baylor, it was Dominic Richardson who took over. He finished the game with 169 yards, proving there are no shortage of options at head coach Mike Gundy’s disposal. Expect Oklahoma State to try and keep the Miami offense on the sidelines by extending drives on the ground.
Miami Coming Off Ugly Loss To UNC
Miami could be facing a crisis of confidence heading into this bowl game. The last time they were on the football field, they were laid a beating by the North Carolina Tar Heels. The Miami defense allowed 778 yards and 62 points in the loss. While the unit has been hit-and-miss all year, that game was certainly a miss. Welcoming a ranked opponent that is also known for moving the ball up and down the field may not be what the Hurricanes were looking for in an opponent.

On the bright side, Miami can still trust it’s offense and quarterback D’Eriq King. The transfer had a good first season in with the Hurricanes, throwing for 2,573 yards with 22 touchdowns and five interceptions. Based on the recent series of events, he will be relied upon heavily to keep Miami in this game.
Take Oklahoma State On The Moneyline
The price may be a tad higher, but forget giving up the two points and take Oklahoma State to win this one straight up. The running game has proved to be more than capable regardless of who’s in the backfield and the Cowboys are solid at quarterback as well. Spencer Sanders has thrown for 617 yards and four touchdowns in his last two contests. True to form, he’s also a capable runner as well.
One of these teams won their last game by 39 points, the other lost by 36 points. Yes, the quality of opponent may have been different but the facts are the facts. Take Oklahoma State and their wave of momentum over the sputtering Miami squad.
