The Hoosiers are 8-3 ATS in the last 11, although the Buckeyes have covered three of the last five. The spread is so lopsided that no moneyline has been posted. The total has gone over in the last five meetings and eight of the last 11.

Ohio State Rolls Toward Final Four

The Buckeyes are one of four remaining unbeatens in Division I, along with No. 1 Georgia, No. 3 Michigan and No. 4 TCU, and can use the next two games to solidify its ranking as it prepares for a Nov. 26 biggee at against the Wolverines. The Buckeyes have scored at least 20 points in their last 70 games, eclipsing Oklahoma’s previous Division I record with a 21-7 win at windy, rainy Northwestern the last time out.

With weather conditions conducive to the ground game, halfback Miyan Williams rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns in a game the Buckeyes did not put away until his second scoring run of the day with about 4 1/2 minutes remaining. Quarterback C.J. Stroud’s 44-yard run set up the touchdown.

Stroud again has become the betting favorite in the Heisman Trophy odds after Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker struggled against Georgia a week ago, even though Stroud had a miserable day at Northwestern — 10 of 26 passing for 76 yards with a career-high 79 yards rushing. Stroud has completed 67.9 percent of his passes for 2,453 yards, 29 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Ohio State’s defense came up big late in 44-31 win at Penn State two weeks and ranks No.6 in Division I in total defense. the Buckeyes have a plus-9 turnover margin, with 16 takeaways.

Indiana Hits the Skids

The Hoosiers opened 3-0 including a win over Illinois, but that seems like a long time ago in a season marked by a coaching change and injuries. Coach Tom Allen fired his offensive line coach and went with Missouri transfer Conner Bazelak at quarterback, but Bazelak was held out of a 45-14 loss to Penn State.

The Hoosiers went through three replacement quarterbacks without much success last week. No. 2 Jack Tuttle started but left late in the first half with a season-ending shoulder injury, and he announced this week he will enter the transfer portal. Brendan Sorsby and Dexter Williams III also saw action in the second half. Bazelak is expected to play against the Buckeyes, but he is among the least efficient quarterbacks in the Big Ten with a 54.9 completion percentage and nine interceptions.

Ohio State vs Indiana Prediction

The Buckeyes will win, that much we know. And probably win big. And certainly want to win big, in order to enhance their standing among the CFP Final Four contenders. But 40 points is too many. The Weather Channel predicts temperatures in the upper 30s with a 60 percent of rain that could turn into snow later in the afternoon. Not the kind of day for an explosive passing attack to thrive.

The Buckeyes are 0-2-1 ATS in games they have been favored by at 37.5 points, the number against Northwestern. If you have to play the game, take 40 points.

  • Pick: Indiana +40 (-112)
  • Season CFB: 32-34 ATS
