  • The top matchup of the week has #23 Pittsburgh hosting Clemson
  • The full list of Week 8 opening lines and odds can be found below

Week 8 of the college football season won’t have many intriguing matchups as there are no games between ranked teams.

The closest thing to a marquee game comes in the ACC as #23 Pittsburgh (5-1) hosts Clemson (4-2) on Saturday at Heinz Field. Pitt has opened as a four-point favorite.

Another intriguing game has #8 Oklahoma State (6-0) visiting Iowa State (4-2) on Saturday in a Big 12 matchup at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. Even though the Cowboys are unbeaten, the Cyclones opened as 5.5-point picks.

Here is a look at all the Week 8 opening lines:

Is Pitt It in The ACC?

DJ Uiagalelei passed for 181 yards and one touchdown, Kobe Pace rushed for 76 yards and a score as Clemson held off Syracuse 17-14 on Friday night on the road for its second straight victory.

Clemson played its first game as a team not ranked by the AP since Nov. 22, 2014. The Tigers held on for the victory after Syracuse’s Andre Szmyt missed a 48-yard field goal attempt with 38 seconds left.

Uiagalelei finished 21 of 34 passing.

Kenny Pickett threw two touchdown passes and rushed for a score to lead Pittsburgh to a 28-7 road victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday. The Panthers have won three straight games.

Pickett threw touchdown passes of 8 yards to Gavin Bartholomew and 36 yards to Jared Wayne and scored on a 3-yard run. All three TDs came in the first half as Pitt moved into sole possession of first place in the ACC’s Coastal Division.

Pickett has thrown 21 touchdown passes and just one interception, putting him at least on the fringe of the Heisman Trophy conversation. He completed 22 of 37 passes for 203 yards Saturday and Israel Abanikanda rushed for a career-high 140 yards.

It is hard to get past Pitt’s loss to Western Michigan at home earlier in the season. However, the Panthers are rolling right now and should cover the spread as Pickett, a super senior, gives them the edge at quarterback over the more-touted Uiagalelei.

OK State Still Perfect

Oklahoma State rallied for a 32-24 road victory over then-#25 Texas on Saturday in Austin as Tanner Brown’s fourth field goal gave the Cowboys their first lead and Spencer Sanders’ scrambling 10-yard touchdown run with 2:18 to play capped the comeback.

Jalen Warren finished with 193 yards on 33 carries, including 154 yards in the second half. Jason Taylor II returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown for the Cowboys.

Texas built leads of 17-3 and 24-13 but Oklahoma State came back.

Iowa State also won on the road, beating Kansas State 33-20 behind Breece Hall and Brock Purdy.

Hall rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns. Purdy was 22-of-25 passing for 208 yards and a score.

Hall has rushed for a touchdown in a Big 12-record 18 straight games. He reached the end zone from 75 yards on the first play from scrimmage Saturday to help give the Cyclones their second win in a row.

Unbeaten Oklahoma State is getting love from the poll voters but not so much from the oddsmakers. The Cowboys are playing like a team with something to prove and are worth taking at +5.5 in this one.

Michigan Undervalued?

Michigan is a substantial 21-point favorite at home against Northwestern on Saturday in the Big Ten.

The Wolverines, who had an open date this weekend, are 6-0 and ranked #6 while Northwestern is 3-3. Look for this number to go up with Michigan having a 5-1 record against the spread while the Wildcats are just 2-4 ATS.
