The NFL fell in love with the Eagles just in the first drive of Monday night, but now they have to show they play that high pace game on a weekly basis, starting against the Chargers this Sunday at 1 PM ET, at Lincoln Financial Field.

Philadelphia put 53 offensive plays on the Redskins in the 33-27 victory on MNF, which is exactly the same the Steelers had all game against the Titans on Sunday.  The high pace Chip Kelly brought to the table could be hard to deal with it.

“I felt like it was slow, to be honest with you,” Kelly said. “I’m not joking. We’ve got to do a better job. We left the ball on the ground too much. We didn’t get the ball to the officials. We could have speed things up from a process between plays. That’s something we need to continue to work on.”

“We had every opportunity in the world to finish that game, and we didn’t do it,” running back LeSean McCoy who ran for 184 yards said Wednesday. “And it’s all about winning and losing. We get paid to win games here, and we didn’t finish the game. But we’re moving on. We’re learning from it.”

The Eagles look scary good.  The Chargers looked as the same old Chargers, leaving a 21 point lead slip away on Monday also.  San Diego lost 31-28 to the Texans at home despite having a 28-7 advantage entering the third quarter.

“There are certain games where you play the clock, but I don’t know that there will be a time in this game where you won’t be wanting to go score and keep scoring because of how fast they play offensively,” San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers said. “No lead is ever safe.”

The NFL Betting Odds have the Eagles as 7 point favorites for week 2.
