Not many people had the Jets or the Titans arriving to this game with a winning record; well, both are 2-1 and will clash at LP Field this Sunday at 4:05 PM ET, in week 4 of the NFL 2013 season.

Tennessee has looked really good in three weeks, only losing against the Texans in Houston, in overtime. They are doing it with a good offensive line and a nasty defense that wants some recognition.

What the Titans need to do is avoid penalties.  They had 11 for 116 yards against the Chargers last week, and almost ruined their win.

“We’re going to harp on them, we’re going to talk about them, we’re going to learn from them, we’re going to learn how to be smarter,” coach Mike Munchak said.

As the Titans, the Jets need to be smarter.  However, their problems are bigger; they had a franchise record 20 penalties in the 27-20 win over the Bills.  The Jets are getting 10 push-ups in training every time some makes a penalty.

“I want him to notice who he’s affecting,” coach Rex Ryan said about his new approach. “He’s affecting all of us. I think that’s where it’s like, ‘Oh, OK.’ After you’ve done a few of those, you’re like, ‘Really, you got a penalty again?’ And they’ll get on each other.”

Tennessee is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games when playing at home vs. the NY Jets, but they won 14-10 last season and covered the +1 home point spread they had against.
