Week 5 looks complicated, betting wise, but there’s always room to find some good picks on the boards.  For this week 5, I think favorites will have a big payout, and despite I always love underdogs, this is not the weekend for it.

Here are the NFL Week 5 Betting Predictions:

Chicago Bears at Carolina Panthers | CAR -2.5, Game Total: 46

The Carolina Panthers are in trouble having lost their last two matchups in a row and allowing 75 points combined in those losses. On offense, undrafted rookie Darrin Reaves and recently signed Chris Ogbonnaya will split carries, after DeAngelo Williams (ankle), Mike Tolbert (leg) on short-term injured reserve, Jonathan Stewart (knee) doubtful, and Fozzy Whittaker are all injured.

“I’m starting to be able to live my dreams out, and that’s a good feeling,” said Reaves, who carried 12 times for 26 yards against the Ravens. “Not under the circumstances we have, with so many guys dinged up, but it’s still a good feeling.”

Chicago is 0-2 when playing at home and 2-0 playing away from home.

Predictions: Bears +2.5.

St. Louis Rams at Philadelphia Eagles | PHI -7, Game total: 48

I don’t expect the Philadelphia Eagles offense to stay without scoring one point on consecutive weeks. “We haven’t gotten (McCoy) to the second level,” coach Chip Kelly said. “We’re losing some battles at the line of scrimmage, so obviously it’s about getting going and getting started.”

Predictions: Eagles -7.

Baltimore Ravens at Indianapolis Colts | IND -3.5, Game total: 49

Andrew Luck only faced the Baltimore Ravens once, and it was on his rookie year in the wild-card round of the playoffs, where he lost to the eventual Super Bowl champions.

The Colts have the best passing offense in the NFL wavering 326.0 yards per game and will face the 24th ranked passing defense.

“He’s in the zone right now,” coach Chuck Pagano said of Luck. “Anytime you go out there and play fast and you’re not thinking, usually, the result is the numbers, you know the yards and touchdowns he’s producing right now.”

The Colts are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. Win, 6-1 ATS in their last seven games in Week 5, and 20-8 ATS in their last 28 vs. AFC.

Prediction: Colts -3.5.

Arizona Cardinals at Denver Broncos | DEN -8, Game total: 47.5

The Cardinals defense is the reason they might have a shot at Denver and Peyton Manning.  The problem here is Arizona will go with Drew Stanton under center, and I’m not sure he can keep up with Manning.

Arizona has the worst total offense in the entire NFL.

“I’m just so fortunate and blessed really to be able to be in this opportunity,” Stanton said, “because most guys that go four years without a start, they’re not around the league too long.”

The Broncos are 7-1-1 against Arizona after dropping the last meeting 43-13 on Dec. 12, 2010. The Cardinals are 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games in October.

Predictions: Broncos -8.
