Sadly to say, this is a matchup between two teams who likely want their miserable campaigns to be over sooner rather than later. Both teams have been ravaged by injuries. The Broncos lead the NFL with 19 players on injured reserve, while the Rams are tied for third-most with 15.

This will be a contest between the two lowest-scoring teams in the NFL. What does that mean? Under city. It’s typical for bettors to hit the over in props as it’s more exciting to see more yards and touchdowns displayed, but unless this game goes totally off-script, that’s not what we’re anticipating here.

We’re going to start off the Broncos vs Rams player props, by looking at the starting quarterbacks for this game and explaining why we don’t expect them to be slinging it in this contest.

Odds as of December 24th at Barstool Sportsbook

Russell Wilson’s over/under player prop for passing touchdowns on Christmas Day sits at 1.5, a number he’s only gone over twice this season. Nevertheless, one of the times he went over was in his last taste of action against the Chiefs a couple weeks ago when he threw for three scores.

DEN vs LAR Prop #1: Russell Wilson Under 1.5 TD Passes

While his last performance was encouraging, Wilson is coming back from a concussion so he may take a step back from his encouraging outing against the Chiefs.

It’ll be 14 days between games for the Broncos pivot. It’s the fourth time this season he’ll make a start with at least 10 days off between games and the previous returns aren’t encouraging if you’re expecting him to light it up.

Russell Wilson 2022 Stats – 10 Days or More Between Games

DATE COM/ATT YDS TD/INT
10/18/2022 15-28 188 1-0
10/30/2022 18-30 252 1-1
11/13/2022 21-42 286 1-1

There’s been nothing to brag about this whole season for Russ, but he’s shown some rust when he’s had too much time off.

In addition, while the Rams are undoubtedly a huge disappointment this season, that’s mostly due to their offense. In terms of points allowed, they’re right in the middle of the league and have allowed only one passing touchdown in their last two games.

To top things off, Wilson has had very limited success through the air in his most recent outings against the Rams. In fact, he has only thrown two touchdowns combined the last five times he’s faced them. With this sorry Broncos offense, we don’t see him throwing more than one on Sunday.

Pick: Russell Wilson Under 1.5 TD Passes (-200), 1 unit

When it comes to the anytime TD market, Latavius Murray is the favorite and it makes sense that his team would hand him the ball in any goal-to-go situations. However, his status has been called into question as he’s dealing with a foot injury that limited him in practice on Friday.

The Broncos remain the 3-point favorites in this matchup, but it would be wise to stay away from Murray scoring a major given the health issues he’s dealing with.

DEN vs LAR Prop #2: Tyler Higbee Anytime TD

Where can the Rams find a mismatch against a Denver D that’s performed solidly this season? We think Tyler Higbee could pose a mismatch when matching up against the Rams inside linebackers. If the Rams find early success running to the outside, they could expose the middle of the field, where Higbee does most of his damage.

Granted, we’re a little hesitant here, and by no means is this pick in the Broncos vs Rams player props a lock. The Rams’ tight end has only scored one touchdown this season, but that came in last week’s loss to the Packers.

We know that Baker Mayfield is comfortable looking for Higbee in the red zone and we wouldn’t be surprised if they target him inside the 10 once against the Broncos. At odds of +285, and no other confident bets to score a TD in this one, our prediction is that Higbee will get a score and pay out a nice return on investment.

Pick: Tyler Higbee Anytime TD (+285), 1 unit

Last Week’s Prop Record: 4-0, +4.02 units
