Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (10-3) take on the Baltimore Ravens (8-5) this Sunday afternoon. Kickoff from M&T Bank Stadium is scheduled for 4:25pm ET on FOX. Temperatures are expected to be in the lower 40s with a slight wind and no precipitation. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be on the call so this is definitely a big deal.

The Ravens are literally coming into this one on crutches as starting quarterback, Lamar Jackson, is dealing with a high-ankle sprain. He left early in last week’s 24-22 setback to the Cleveland Browns and is questionable for this game. Meanwhile, the Packers have won three of their last four games, the latest 45-30 beating of the Chicago Bears last Sunday.

With Lamar Jackson’s status in question, the Packers are sitting at 6.5-point road favorites at the moment. In terms of total, we’re looking at 43.5 but that could change as injury updates are received.  As always, there are plenty of player props to consider and that is what we will talk about here.

  • Given Lamar Jackson’s status, there are not many player props available for this game.

Feed AJ Dillon

If I was in charge of the Green Bay Packers, I would just turn around and hand the ball to AJ Dillon on every play. It sounds crazy when you think about it but I bet it would work. The guy is an absolute tank and I sure as hell wouldn’t want to tackle him.

Plus, he’s PFF’s highest-graded running back since Week 10.

Before you tell me that the Baltimore Ravens have a good run defense, save it, I already know. On the season, only five teams have given up fewer rushing yards than they have. On top of that, according to the holy grail of football sites, Football Outsiders, they have the fourth best run defense (DVOA) in the NFL.

But we’re gamblers and we like to gamble. There’s a reason why Dillon’s number is only 55.5 today. The Ravens’ good run defense is baked into that number. Think about it, the guy has topped this number four out of the last six weeks easily. He’s only finished with less than 66 rushing yards once in over a month.

My theory is the Ravens are going to play from behind today and once the game gets into the later stages, Dillon will be tougher to tackle. The Ravens allowed Nick Chubb to go for 59 yards last week and Najee Harris to split them for 71. Plus, the Packers have a threat of a pass so they can’t just sell out. I bet AJ Dillon big boys the Ravens this afternoon.

  • The Pick: AJ Dillon Over 55.5 rushing yards (1.15 units to win 1 unit)
  • SBD 2021 NFL Player Props Record: 27-28, -0.12 Units

Mark Andrews Will Score Sunday

What do the people want to see? Touchdowns. Nobody turns these games on to see kickers kick field goals or punters to punt. It’s just not how the world works. Since we want to see touchdowns, we also want to bet them. Touchdowns and touchdown bets go together like peanut butter and jelly. They just work.

The guy I think we should bet to find pay dirt is Mark Andrews.

Everyone is saying having Tyler Huntley at quarterback is a downgrade from Lamar Jackson and that is correct. But it’s not like Andrews can’t score with Huntley playing. He just caught one last Sunday and cashed a bunch of tickets for us!

Obviously I think the Packers are going to roll Baltimore so the Ravens will be throwing. When that happens, Andrews will get his. Especially inside the Packers’ 10-yard line. On the season, only 12 players in the entire NFL have seen more targets in that area than Andrews. I think it will happen again Sunday.

  • Pick: Mark Andrews to Score a Touchdown (1 unit to win 1.8 units)
  • SBD 2021 Touchdown Scorer prop record: 20-34, -2.36 units
