  • Rob Gronkowski is heading to TV and books have posted prop bets on his debut for FOX Sports
  • Will Gronkowski predict, on-air, that the Patriots finish this season 16-0?
  • The odds heavily favor Gronk being asked about retirement

Rob Gronkowski is making a comeback to the NFL, only it’ll be in a television studio rather than an actual football field.

The three-time Super Bowl champion has joined FOX’s panel as an NFL analyst and will make his debut on Thursday night when the New England Patriots — Gronk’s former team — take on the New York Giants.

Books have released a series of intriguing prop bets on Gronkowski’s debut, including whether or not he will make a prediction on the Pats or spike a football live on the air.

Let’s break down each prop and go over some of the best bets.

Odds Gronkowski Predicts The Patriots Go 16-0 This Season

Outcome Odds
Yes +300
No -500

*All odds herein as of October 10.

There’s still an outside chance Gronkowski could return to the football field, months after announcing his retirement from the NFL. One factor that may lure Gronk back to the field is the possibility of the Patriots going 16-0 this season.

The longer the Pats stay undefeated, the greater the potential of Gronkowski having a burning desire to rejoin the defending champions. We’ll get a better sense of this on Thursday if Gronk mentions the possibility of New England posting a perfect 16-0 record this season.

Books have set +300 odds that Gronkowski will in fact predict the Patriots will go 16-0 — a bet worth taking. Gronkowski never hid his emotions on the field and that will likely spill over to his broadcasting career.

Pick: Yes (+300)

Odds Gronkowski Spikes A Ball On The Air

Outcome Odds
Yes +225
No -350

Gronk has had some memorable end-zone celebrations during his Hall of Fame-worthy career, but none more notable than his classic ball spike.

Will Gronkowski bust out the old ball spike on FOX’s pregame coverage of the Patriots and Giants on Thursday?

The five-time Pro-Bowl tight end was never one to play it safe on the field, but don’t expect to see him spike a football on the set. Unless of course he’s asked to, in which case he would likely oblige.

In the meantime, take the -350 odds that Gronk won’t spike a football.

Pick: No (-350)

Odds The Broadcast Team Asks Gronk About Retirement

Outcome Odds
Yes -500
No +300

It won’t be long before FOX’s broadcast team brings up Gronkowski’s decision to retire from the NFL.

Books have placed -500 odds that Gronk will be asked about retirement, while odds on the subject of retirement not being brought up at all have been set at +300.

In all likelihood, Gronk will be asked whether he’s pondered returning to the NFL as a player this season or in the future. It’s the subject that’s on everyone’s mind. This seems like the safest bet on the board, barring some behind-the-scenes deal in which Gronk made the subject off-limits.

Pick: Yes (-500)
