The Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns will look to extend three-game winning streaks when they meet at 4:25 pm Sunday at First Energy Stadium in Cleveland.
Both have raised their records to 3-1 since losing in Week 1. The Colts fell to the Jaguars in Jacksonville and the Browns were blown out by the Ravens in Baltimore.

History on Colts’ Side
The teams are meeting for the first time since 2017. In that game, the Colts notched a 31-28 victory at home as a one-point underdog.
Jacoby Brissett, now the backup to Philip Rivers, started at quarterback for the Colts. He completed 17 of 24 passes for 259 yards and one touchdown.
TY Hilton burned the Browns for seven receptions, 153 yards and one touchdown.
The Colts have won the last three meetings and eight of the past 11.
Soft Schedules
Both teams still have something to prove. Their wins have come against soft schedules.
The Colts have beaten the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets and Chicago Bears. Those teams have a combined record of 5-8.
Indy used a strong defensive effort to beat the Bears 19-11 on the road last week. Indianapolis held Chicago to 28 yards rushing on 16 attempts while Nick Foles was 26 of 42 for 249 yards with a touchdown and interception.

The Browns’ victories have been against teams with a combined 3-8-1 mark – the Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Football Team and Dallas Cowboys.
Cleveland rolled up 307 yards on the ground in its Week 4 road win over the Cowboys 49-38 despite losing top running back Nick Chubb to a sprained knee early in the game. He is expected to miss at least a month.
D’Ernest Johnson rushed for 95 yards and Kareem Hunt added 71.
Strength vs Strength
The key match-up is the Browns’ rushing attack against the Colts’ defense.
The Browns lead the NFL with an average of 204.5 yards a game on the ground. Meanwhile, the Colts top the league in total defense (236.2) and scoring defense (14.0) while standing fourth against the run (77.0).
Chubb is fourth in the NFL with 335 rushing yards and the Browns will certainly miss him. However, Hunt’s 275 yards rank 10th and he is a former league rushing champion.

The Colts will be without middle linebacker Darius Leonard, a key run stopper who has a team-high 27 tackles. He has a strained groin, sustained in last week’s win.
Colts Missing Left Tackle
Philip Rivers hasn’t compiled big statistics in his first season as the Colts’ quarterback. The 38-year has completed 72.7 of his passes for 984 yards and four touchdowns with three interceptions.
Rivers will also be without left tackle Anthony Castonzo protecting his blind side. Castonzo sustained a rib injury against the Bears. His absence could be felt, especially against defense end Myles Garrett, who has a strip sack in each of the Browns’ three wins.
One reason the Colts are 3-1 is their depth has filled in capably. They've lost essentially two starting WRs, a starting RB and a starting CB (Ya-Sin, for two games).
But playing Sunday w/out Darius Leonard and Anthony Castonzo will be the biggest test yet of that depth.

The injury also will end the Colts’ streak of starting the same five offensive linemen in 20 straight games. That is the longest current streak in the NFL.
An Even Match
This game is evenly matched from the teams having the same record to being on three-game win streaks to missing key players.
Look for the Colts to eke out a road victory, though, thanks to their strong defense that figures to slow a Browns’ offense that has scored 30 points in three games.
