  • The NFL Draft begins Thursday night (Apr. 25th) in Nashville, Tennessee
  • Odds have been made available on who will be selected with the #3 pick
  • The New York Jets currently own that selection and could be looking for help on the defensive side of the ball

The NFL draft starts at 8:00 PM ET on Thursday, Apr. 25th, and odds have been released on who will be picked 3rd overall.

Odds on #3 Pick in the 2019 NFL Draft

Player Odds to Be #3 NFL Draft Pick
Quinnen Williams (DT, Alabama) +200
Ed Oliver (DT, Houston) +250
Josh Allen (EDGE, Kentucky) +250
Nick Bosa (EDGE, Ohio State) +1000
Dwayne Haskins (QB, Ohio State) +1200
Kyler Murray (QB, Oklahoma) +1200
Drew Lock (QB, Missouri) +1400

*odds taken 4/24

The closer we get to the draft, the more things begin to take shape.  While teams could be misdirecting the public on their true plans, it certainly seems like Kyler Murray and Nick Bosa will be the first two players off the board.

Looking at the odds listed above, the oddsmakers see this as a three-horse race between Quinnen Williams, Ed Oliver and Josh Allen.

With those players in mind, I see value in taking Alabama’s stud defensive tackle Williams to be picked third.

Williams Is a Generational Talent

The New York Jets own the #3 pick and should be thrilled at the prospect of landing a player like Williams in this spot.

He’s 6’3, weighs 303 pounds, and ran a 4.83 40-yard dash at the combine. He is a freakish athlete capable of not only becoming a Pro Bowler, but the rock on a stout defense that strikes fear in opposing offenses.

Last season, the Jets addressed their need at the quarterback position with the selection of Sam Darnold.  This pick would give them a potential star on both sides of the ball, which is a solid start to any rebuild.

Williams Great in the Room & on the Field

Williams’ intangibles match his freak skill, and that’s tough considering how imposing of a figure he is in the middle of the defensive line. He has reportedly impressed mightily behind the scenes, which only adds to the long list of reasons the Jets should draft him.

There are whispers he could go even higher with the 49ers considering him at number two, but I do believe Nick Bosa from Ohio State will ultimately be the pick there.

The fact you can get +200 on this pick is reasonable value and something you need to consider before the Cardinals are on the clock Thursday night.

PICK: QUINNEN WILLIAMS (+200)
