- Get all the odds and insight into the updated NFL player props in the story below
The hopes of long-suffering Cincinnati Bengals fans were raised on Thursday night, as the team selected quarterback Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. And with good reason. Burrow closed out his collegiate career at LSU with a record-smashing campaign and is expected to step into the starter’s role under center for the Bengals in the upcoming season.
While Burrow inherits a Bengals’ offense that ranked 30th in the NFL last season, scoring an average of just 17.4 points per game, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner is still expected to enjoy a strong NFL debut, and sports -120 odds of tossing for OVER 3,800 yards.

Green, Boyd Key to Burrow’s Rookie Success
With the Bengals coming off a dismal 2-14 campaign, Burrow will have to get used to hitting the gridiron with a team facing low expectations. Indeed, Cincinnati sits near the bottom of the odds as a +800 longshot to make the NFL playoffs for the first time in five years. However, he will have talented targets at his disposal in wide receivers AJ Green and Tyler Boyd.
Green has proven to be a reliable downfield target after topping 1,000 receiving yards on six occasions so far in his NFL career. Boyd is coming off a steady 2019 season in which he was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise dismal Bengals squad. The 25-year-old racked up over 1,000 receiving yards for a second straight year, while making five of the team’s 18 total scoring catches.

While the talented duo should provide Burrow ample opportunity to pad his rookie numbers, the challenge will be whether they can stay healthy. In addition to missing all of last season due to an ankle injury, Green also missed 13 total games over the three previous seasons. Boyd has also not been immune to the injury bug, with last season marking the first time in three years he avoided missing time due to injury.
Still, with the Bengals expected to ride Burrow in his rookie year, even through some potential growing pains, there is plenty of value in wagering on the budding star to top 3,800 passing yards and 22 total scoring passes.
Picks: Joe Burrow OVER 3,800 passing yards (-120); OVER 22 TD passes (-120)
Is Tua Ready for Primetime?
While Joe Burrow will enjoy ample opportunity to establish himself as an elite NFL starter during his rookie campaign, the same may not be true for Tua Tagovailoa. Picked fifth overall by the Miami Dolphins, Tagovailoa is likely to be hard-pressed to payout on the -120 odds to toss for OVER 3,200 total passing yards and 19 total passing touchdowns.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide star was an early favorite to claim Heisman Trophy winner last year, and eventually saw his final collegiate campaign ended by a gruesome hip injury. While Tagovailoa received a positive report on his recovery just hours before being picked by the Dolphins, it remains to be seen whether he will be ready to take over under center at the start of the 2020 season.

Indeed, Tagovailoa’s lengthy history of injuries suffered during his time in Alabama cast doubt on his durability. In addition to his recent hip injury, Tagovailoa suffered through an injury-plagued 2018 season, suffering knee, ankle and quad injuries. And even if he can remain healthy, Tagovailoa is far from a lock to open the season as the starter in Miami. With veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick and third-year passer Josh Rosen on the roster, the Dolphins could elect to bring Tagovailoa along slowly, adding significant value to the UNDER on all available Tagovailoa player props.
Picks: Tua Tagovailoa UNDER 3,200 passing yards (-120); UNDER 19 total TD passes (-120); UNDER 19.5 total interceptions (-120)
Jeudy Poised for Big Debut in Denver
Rumored to be in talks to trade up in the first round in a bid to draft Jerry Jeudy, the NFL Draft unfolded favorably for the Denver Broncos, who ultimately didn’t need a trade to get Jeudy with the 15th overall pick.

Jeudy represents a much-needed upgrade to a Broncos receiving corps that tallied an NFL-worst 16 total scoring catches in 2019. The former Crimson Tide star is arguably the top receiver in the 2020 draft class after racking up 24 scoring catches over his final 28 games with Alabama.
Along with Courtland Sutton, Jeudy provides Broncos passer Drew Lock a reliable downfield option, who should be targeted with regularity during his rookie season, and is a solid bet to top 900 receiving yards during the 2020 season.
Pick: Jerry Jeudy OVER 900 receiving yards (-120)
