Patriots vs Falcons Line Movement

There’s been some significant shifts in the betting lines on this game. The point spread has gone from New England -5.5 to Patriots -7. That line movement is proving to be enough to increase the action on Atlanta. Currently, 83% of the bets placed against the spread are on the Falcons +7.

The moneyline also lengthened in favor of the Pats. Opening at New England -150, it’s now at Patriots -295. The moneyline splits are showing 87% of the bets are on the Patriots at -295 odds.

The total ticked up slightly from 46.5 to 47.5. Of all total wagering, 87% of the public bets are on the under.

Keeping Up With Jones

Each week, Patriots rookie quarterback Mac Jones is improving. The team is opening up more of the playbook to their rookie signal-caller, and he’s answering the challenge of increasing expectations.

Jones led the Pats to six touchdowns on eight possessions in their 45-7 win over Cleveland. His 142.1 passer rating in that game was the eighth-highest ever by an NFL rookie.

He could feast again on Sunday. Atlanta is 29th in the NFL at defending the pass, 22nd at stopping the run and is the league’s 31st scoring defense. Offensively, the Falcons are #21 in passing, #30 in rushing and 25th in scoring offense.

Patriots vs Falcons Injury Report

The right side of the New England offensive line is hurting. Both right guard Shaq Mason (abdominal) and right tackle Trent Brown (calf) are listed as questionable. The Patriots are also ailing at running back. Both Damien Harris (concussion) and Brandon Bolden (hip) are questionable. However, third-stringer Rhamondre Stevenson stepped in to carry 20 times for 100 yards and two TDs in the win over Cleveland.

Defensively, the Patriots are riddled by injuries. Both right defensive end Chase Winovich (hamstring) and his backup Henry Anderson (pectoral) are on IR. Left defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr (illness), middle linebacker Donta’a Hightower (ankle) and his backup Ja-Whaun Bentley (ribs), strongside linebacker Kyle Van Noy (groin) and his backup Josh Uche (concussion), strong safety Kyle Dugger (ankle) and right cornerback Jalen Mills (forearm) are all questionable.

As well, New England kicker Nick Folk (knee), punter Jake Bailey (knee) and main return man Gunner Olszewski (concussion) are also questionable.

By comparison, the Falcons are dealing with few injuries. Wide receiver Calvin Ridley (personal) is out. Running back Coradelle Peterson (ankle) and left defensive end Jonathan Bullard (concussion) are questionable.

Patriots vs Falcons Betting Trends

The Over is 5-1 in New England’s last six games. Atlanta is 0-3 both straight up and ATS at home this season. The Falcons are 0-2 ATS as a home underdog.

Atlanta is also 0-6 both SU and ATS in the last six games against New England.

Patriots vs Falcons Prediction

During their four-game win streak, the Patriots are averaging 37.5 points. At the same time, the New England defense is checking opponents at 12.5 ppg.

Meanwhile, the Falcons are scoring 14.3 ppg over the past three games. It doesn’t add up to success for Atlanta.
