Two of the NFL’s premier quarterbacks square off when the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson play the Houston Texans and Deshaun Watson at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday (Sept. 20) at NRG Stadium.

NRG Stadium has a retractable roof, so weather will not be a factor. However, it might be a good day to stay indoors as winds are forecast to gust at 25 mph and there is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms with a high of 81 degrees.

Baltimore is listed as a 7.5-point favorite in the Ravens vs Texans odds.

Betting Trends

The Ravens routed the Texans 41-7 last season as a 4.5-point favorite when the teams met in Baltimore. The total went under 51 points.

Jackson passed for 222 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 79 yards on his way to winning the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award. Gus Edwards rushed for 112 yards on just eight carries, though he has fallen to No. 3 on the depth chart.

Watson was sacked six times and intercepted once while completing 18 of 29 passes for 169 yards and no touchdowns.

Spotlight on Quarterbacks

Much of the media attention for this game is focused on the Jackson-Watson matchup.

On opening day, Jackson looked ready to repeat as the MVP by picking apart the helpless Browns. He connected on 20 of 25 passing attempts for 275 yards and topped the Ravens with 45 yards on the ground.

Jackson had a bit of motivation, too.

The Ravens had the game well in hand by halftime as they built a 24-7 lead.

Meanwhile, the Texans fell behind the Chiefs 31-7 early in the fourth quarter. Houston made the final score respectable by scoring two late touchdowns.

Watson was 20 of 32 for 253 yards and one TD but most of those yards came in garbage time. He also took four sacks and threw an interception.

Queen is King

The Ravens defense looked very sharp in Week 1. Baltimore forced three turnovers and had Baker Mayfield and the rest of Browns befuddled throughout the afternoon.

Linebacker Patrick Queen, the Ravens’ first-round draft pick from LSU, had an outstanding debut and showed the look of a potential star. He had a team-high eight tackles, including four solo stops.

Queen also had a sack, a tackle for a loss, a forced fumble and a quarterback hit.

Life Without DeAndre

The Texans traded four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver De’Andre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals in the offseason. It looked like a regrettable move in Week 1 when he had a career-high 14 catches for his new team in its upset win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Texans coach Bill O’Brien is confident that Will Fuller is ready to be WR1 in his fifth NFL season. In the opener, Fuller caught eight passes for 112 yards.

Watson also spread the ball around as he competed passes to nine different players.

Ravens Look to Dominate Texans Again

The Ravens opened as a six-point favorite and the line has steadily gone up throughout the week.

Jackson and the Ravens were too much for the Texans last year in Baltimore. Look for more of the same this year, even in a different venue.

The Pick: Ravens -7.5 (-100)
