  • Russell Wilson hasn’t thrown an interception since Week 17 of the 2018 season
  • The Seahawks’ next opponent, Baltimore, has five INTs as a team
  • Books have posted a prop on Wilson throwing a pick in Week 7, with “No” heavily favored

The Baltimore Ravens (4-2) will visit the Seattle Seahawks (5-1) in front of the “12th Man” at CenturyLink Field this coming Sunday (Oct. 20th, 1:05 PM ET).

This tilt boasts two teams playing at a high level, and both have their quarterbacks to thank for their early success. Lamar Jackson has become an NFL MVP candidate thanks to his dual-threat ability. But it’s the QB on the other side of the field who is playing at an unparalleled level.

Through six games, Russell Wilson is the NFL MVP favorite. He sits first (by a mile) in passer rating at 124.7, and ranks second in the NFL with 14 touchdown passes. He also hasn’t thrown a single interception, my friends.

No other QB with more than five pass attempts has a zero in the INT column. Wilson’s unwillingness to share has led to books posting a prop wager on whether he’ll toss his first pick of the year against Baltimore.

Trust In Russ

Wilson was selected in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft from Wisconsin. He certainly isn’t playing like a third-round draft pick right now. His ability to protect the football without sacrificing efficiency is not a new trend for him. Last season, Wilson threw only seven INTs in 16 regular-season games, while racking up 35 TD strikes, 3,448 passing yards, and a 110.9 passer rating.

It’s not the 124.7 rating it is in 2019, but I believe I’m giving you a clear picture here.

Going back to the 2017 regular-season, Wilson had 34 TDs to 11 INTs. Adding his 2017-18 stats to this season, that’s 83 TDs to 18 INTs. His career INT rate of 1.83 ranks him fourth all time.

Wilson is video-game good right now. In the clip above, you can see him use his legs and arm to toy with Los Angeles Rams’ defenders. Russell is short in stature at 5-foot-11, and that’s probably generous, but his athleticism and football IQ are off the charts.

Is There Any Reason to Think He’ll Throw an INT Against the Ravens?

As mentioned above, Baltimore has collected five total INTs on the season. If you do the easy math here, that’s less than one pick per game, and two of them came in Week 1 against the terrible Miami Dolphins.

Wilson is a confident cat, and he’s playing at home in front of a rowdy bunch of Seahawks’ fans this coming Sunday. The game has slowed down for him. His streak will eventually end, but not this week against a mediocre Baltimore defense.

My Pick: Wilson Throws No Picks (-300)
