They may just be 4-6, but the Philadelphia Eagles still have a legit shot at the playoffs in the NFC.

Getting their first home win of the season in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints would be a massive help.

The Saints march into Lincoln Financial Field as 2.5-point road underdogs, perhaps a generous total considering they’ll be wildly shorthanded, starting at QB on out.

Kickoff goes 1pm ET, and the game can be seen live on FOX.

Team Moneyline Spread Total
New Orleans Saints +125 +2.5 (-105) O 42.5 (-110)
Philadelphia Eagles -145 -2.5 (-115) U 42.5 (-110)

The betting public seems to be backing NOLA, who currently occupy the 6th-playoff seed in the NFC with 64% of wagers against the spread and 62% of the moneyline on the Saints. They’re picking the OVER total 66% of the time.

It’s expected to be sunny with cloudy breaks, with a fall-like 57-degree temperature at game start.

Injury Report

Already down starting pivot Jameis Winston and going with journeyman Trevor Siemian, the Saints will be without star back Alvin Kamara, who will miss a second straight game with a knee injury. Mark Ingram will again get the start in Kamara’s absense.

If that’s not enough, Pro-Bowl starting tackles Terron Armstead (knee, shoulder) and Ryan Ramczyk (knee) will not be available either.

Backup QB Taysom Hill has been nursing a sore foot, and he’s questionable Sunday.

For the Eagles, defensive end Derek Barnett showed up on the injury report Friday with a neck injury, and is questionable to play.

Center/guard Jack Anderson (hamstring) won’t play, and tight end Dallas Goedert is still in concussion protocol, though that didn’t stop him from inking a four-year extension.

Running back Miles Sanders, on IR with an ankle/foot injury, could be activated after completing a pair of practices.

Saints vs Eagles Key Matchup

It’s strength vs strength Sunday, as the Eagles will put their no. 2 rushing attack to the test against the Saints’ no. 1 rush defense.

The Eagles are one of three teams to churn out five yards per carry in the NFL this season, and they’ve rushed for better than 200 yards in two of their last three games.

New Orleans, meanwhile, are surrendering a paltry 72.9 yards rushing per game, at a small 3. 1 yards per pop, both tops in the league. Only one team, the Washington Football Team, has rushed for over 100 yards against them this season.

This head-to-head was dominated by the Eagles, in QB Jalen Hurts’ first pro start last season. Philly racked up 246 yards rushing and two TD’s on a hefty 6.8 yards per tote. That was the outlier performance against the Saints in 2020, as they allowed 83.7 yards rushing per game on 3.5 yards per carry minus the Eagles’ loss.

Recent Results

The Eagles are coming off a dominating performance in Denver, rolling to  a 30-13 win. Philly pounded the rock 39 times for 216 yards rushing, while Hurts threw for 176 yards, connecting with rookie Devonta Smith for a pair of TD tosses.

Will Hurts be forced to be a passing threat against the Saints, and is he capable?

Sunday marked the third straight game and fifth in the last six the second-year QB has thrown for under 200 yards. Despite that stat, he leads all pivots with 186 yards rushing and a 102.6 passer rating (2nd) in the last three games.

For the Saints, they’re coming off a second-straight loss, this one to the ultra-tough Tennessee Titans 23-21.

These aren’t your fun-and-gun Saints fronted by Drew Brees. This edition of the Saints pumps out just 19.8 points per game on the season, the seventh-lowest mark in the league.

New Orleans is also throwing for 202.3 yards per game this season, the second-worst mark in the NFL. It was a welcome sight that Siemian and Hill combined to throw for 300+ yards against the Titans.

Saints vs Eagles Betting Prediction

The Eagles are 5-5 ATS on the season, thought that figure dips under the .500 mark at 1-3 ATS as the home side. New Orleans is 5-4 ATS, including 3-2 ATS on the road.

The Saints are trying to avoid a three-game losing streak since they dropped the first three to start the 2016 season.

Their defense should keep them in the game Sunday, but the Eagles profile to be the more desperate club. A loss drops them to 4-7 and in a world of hurt, while a win vaults them from 10th to seventh and into final playoff spot in the NFC, with tiebreakers over both the Falcons and Panthers.

NOLA can keep it close, but those losses along the o-line and in the backfield will hamper an already sputtering offense. Look for the Eagles to cram up the playoff map with a win.

Pick: Eagles -2.5 (1.5 units to win 1.31 units)
