Why Did the Super Bowl Total Move?

The biggest reason the total has gone higher is likely because Super Bowl 57 matches two of the three highest-scoring teams in the NFL in the regular season.

The Chiefs led the league with an average of 29.2 points a game. They scored 30-plus points eight times, though Kansas City’s scoring average has dropped to 25.0 a game in two playoff games.

Patrick Mahomes also led the league with 5,250 passing yards and is the overwhelming favorite in the NFL MVP odds at -750.

At 28.1 points a game, the Eagles were third in the regular season. They scored at least 30 points six times and have done so in both playoff games with 38 against the New York Giants in the divisional round and 31 against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts is also an MVP finalist. He guides an offense that includes AJ Brown, who was fourth in the NFL with 1,496 receiving yards, and Miles Sanders, whose 1,269 yards rushing ranked fifth.

Furthermore, the Chiefs were first in total yardage and the Eagles were second.

Chiefs Super Bowl Odds

The Chiefs (16-3) opened at -110 on the moneyline but are now listed at +100, which gives them an implied win probability of 50%. Kansas City’s spread vig is at -110 after an opening number of -104.

The Chiefs are just 7-11-1 ATS this season and have been the losing side in eight of their last 11 games. Kansas City has split its two playoff games.

Eleven of the Chiefs’ 19 games have gone under the total. Those who want to put a wager on the total – or any other aspect of the Super Bowl – can find many NFL betting apps.

Eagles Super Bowl Odds

The Eagles (16-3) also opened at -110 on the opening moneyline and those odds have risen to -118, meaning they have a 54.13% implied win probability. While Philadelphia remains steady as a 1.5-point spread favorite, the vig has dropped from -118 to -110 in the Super Bowl 57 odds for point spread bettors.

Against the spread, the Eagles have a 10-9 record this season. Philadelphia has easily covered both playoff games but was a loser against the number in each of their last four regular-season games.

The over has been the winning side in 10 of the Eagles’ 19 games.

Chiefs vs Eagles Injury Report

The Eagles are clearly the healthier team as they have no significant injuries.

Meanwhile, Mahomes played with a sprained right ankle in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game over the Cincinnati Bengals. He was limping significantly by the end of the game.

That is just the start of the list of banged-up players for the Chiefs that includes tight end Travis Kelce (back), cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (concussion protocol), linebacker Willie Gay Jr (shoulder), and wide receivers Mecole Hardman (pelvis), JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee) and Kadarius Toney (ankle).

Super Bowl 57 Prediction

The Super Bowl is the heaviest-bet sporting event in the United States and there are plenty of Super Bowl betting promotions available for those yearning to make a wager.

As the point spread indicates, this figures to be a close game between teams with identical records. The Chiefs seem like a good moneyline bet at +100, though, especially with Mahomes having two weeks to get healthy.

Pick: Chiefs +100 moneyline
