The first Monday Night Football presents us with a double-header with the Tennessee Titans and the Denver Broncos playing the late game on September 14th at 10:20 PM EST at Mile High Stadium. Both teams head into the 2020-21 NFL season with a promising outlook after two solid offseasons.

In the Titans vs Broncos odds, Tennessee are 3-point favorites on the road. In what should be a low scoring affair, picking the right player props won’t exactly be easy. Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill are players to look out for on Tennessee’s end, while Drew Lock, Melvin Gordon, and starting tight end Noah Fant should all be difference makers for the Broncos.

Which players will start Week 1 with a bang? Let’s take a look at some picks below.

Unfamiliarity in the Backfield in Denver

Phillip Lindsay proved that he could be a reliable back in Denver after two back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons. So, it came to Lindsay’s surprise when the Broncos went out and signed former Chargers running back, Melvin Gordon. This brings some uncertainty with no lead back for the Broncos heading into Week 1.

Lindsay has given the Broncos no reason not to trust him, which leads me to believe that he will get a bulk of the carries on Monday night.

With the lack of time to prepare in the offseason, Gordon might not be fully up to speed with the Broncos offense. This could keep the Wisconsin product off the field in some cases, giving Lindsay more snaps. Against a tough defense, I can’t see Gordon having a great first game with Denver.

Pick: Gordon UNDER 42.5 Rushing Yards (-112)

Jonnu’s Breakout Year

Free from Delanie Walker’s shadow, Jonnu Smith could have a breakout year with the Titans. Tennessee’s TE coach, Todd Downing, couldn’t stop praising Smith in training camp. Smith has the potential to be the number-two target behind AJ Brown and that starts on Monday night.

Although the value is not great for Smith to catch three receptions against the Broncos, the athletic tight end will be targeted a handful of times. The Broncos allowed the seventh-most targets to tight ends last season, so look for Tannehill to continue that trend on Monday night.

Pick: Smith OVER 2.5 Receptions (-167)

King Henry & Company

Well, Derrick Henry proved last season that he could carry the burden of an entire offense on his shoulders. Henry averaged 5.4 yards per carry in the playoffs last year, rushing for 446 yards in three games and scoring twice. With a fresh new contract, Henry should be even more motivated.

Derrick Henry is the hardest running back to take down in the NFL without a doubt. The Titans are going to run it down Denver’s throat on Monday night, especially early in the game to tire their defensive out. Moreover, the Broncos are without their star defensive end Von Miller who’s sidelined with an ankle injury.

If the Titans get within the 15-yard line, more likely than not the ball is going to Henry. The Alabama product had 42 carries inside the 20 and 24 carries inside the 10 last season. Not to mention he had the second-most red-zone touchdowns amongst running backs with 13.

Another target that Tannehill will look for in the red zone is Jonnu Smith. A nightmare matchup for most linebackers with his combination of speed and size, look for Smith to get some great opportunities to score against Denver.

Pick: Henry to Score First TD (+450) and Smith to Score TD Anytime (+325)
