  • The third and final Vikings vs Eagles injury report for the Week 2 MNF game is available
  • Minnesota CB Andrew Booth is the only active member of either roster who has been ruled out
  • Philadelphia will be missing OT Andre Dillard who isn’t eligible to return from injured reserve until Week 5

The most compelling game of the Week 2 NFL slate, just happens to be the last one that will kick off. The Minnesota Vikings face the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, in a battle of two teams entering in very good health.

For the second week in a row, the Eagles enter their contest with no one on the active roster ruled out. On the surface that sounds like fantastic news, but that doesn’t mean quality players aren’t missing.

On the other side of the ball, back-up corner Andrew Booth is the only Viking who’s been ruled out.

See below for the complete Vikings vs Eagles injury report, and how it could impact the spread and total in a contest that features Philadelphia favored by 2.5 points.

Minnesota Vikings Injury Report

Booth is out for Monday’s contest due to a quad issue. The rookie out of Clemson is part of Minny’s second-string defensive back unit and played only on special teams in the Vikings Week 1 victory.

There is good news out of Minnesota’s secondary though. 2022 first-round draft choice Lewis Cine will make his NFL debut at safety. The inaugural selection of new GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, Cine was a star at the University of Georgia. He racked up 144 tackles in 31 career games and was considered one of the hardest-hitting safeties in the nation.

Cine missed the season opener due to a knee issue and he’ll likely play situationally on defense. The Vikings are set at safety with Harrison Smith and Camryn Bynum in starting roles, and nothing about their Week 1 play suggests they need to be replaced.

Nevertheless, Cine’s athleticism could play a role in helping Minnesota’s upset bid in the Vikings vs Eagles picks, more on that later.

Philadelphia Eagles Injury Report

Philadelphia’s relatively clean bill of health is a large reason there’s so much money backing them in the Vikings vs Eagles public betting splits.

Philly’s offensive line is currently the top-rated unit per Pro Football Focus, and they’ve earned that grade without tackle Andre Dillard. The 2019 first-round pick is on injured reserve due to a broken arm. He underwent surgery earlier this month and could be back in the lineup as early as Week 5.

Another key player who was placed on injured reserve is defensive end Derek Barnett. Unfortunately for Eagles fans though, he’s out for the season. Barnett tore his ACL in Week 1, and it will be up to second-year man Tarron Jackson to fill the hole left behind on the defensive line.

Earlier in the week, several big names such as Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce showed up on the injury report, but they were all full participants in practice on Friday and are good to go.

How Could Injuries Affect Vikings vs Eagles Betting Lines?

For an NFL game, this one has a shockingly low amount of injuries. Even the ones that are listed, aren’t big enough to affect the betting lines in any major way.

Cine’s availability, however, could affect how this game plays out. His speed and athleticism make him a perfect candidate to spy Jalen Hurts. The Eagles’ dual-threat QB rushed for 90 yards in Week 1, and if he gets loose like that again, Minnesota is in trouble. Philly’s offense works best when he’s on the move, either picking up yards with his feet or keeping plays alive long enough for his receivers to get open.

If Cine can reduce Hurts’ effectiveness, then that threatens the Eagles’ chances of covering the 2.5-point spread, as well as the game exceeding its 49-point total.
