On the NFL Week 2 injury list, Justin Herbert is a game-time decision. And that decision will be his to make.
The Los Angeles Chargers quarterback fractured rib cartilage in their Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. As they prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, the Chargers are leaving the decision as to whether he’ll play up to Herbert.
Herbert is one of the top contenders this season in the NFL MVP odds. He’s fourth in this betting market at a line of +1000.

Herbert is certainly the biggest name on the NFL Week 3 injury list, but he’s far from the only big name.
In the marquee matchup of the week between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers, wide receivers will be at a premium. For Tampa Bay, Mike Evans is under NFL suspension for his part in a fight in last week’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Chris Godwin (hamstring) is out. Julio Jones (knee) is a game-time decision. He didn’t play last week.
Green Bay will be missing Christian Watson (hamstring) and Sammy Watkins (hamstring). However, Randall Cobb (illness) will play.
The Saints will be getting back running back Alvin Kamara (ribs) for their game against the Carolina Panthers. He missed last week’s game with the Buccaneers.
Let’s take a look at the prominent names on the Week 3 injury report and how it’s impacting the NFL odds.

As they face the Denver Broncos as 1.5-point road favorites on the SNF game, the San Francisco 49ers are welcoming back tight end George Kittle. The All-Pro missed the first two games of the season with a knee injury. The Baltimore Ravens will suit up RB JK Dobbins (knee) for the first time this season.
The Detroit Lions, 6-point underdogs at the Minnesota Vikings, are reporting plenty of good news on the injury front. The Lions report that RB D’Andre Swift (ankle), TE TJ Hockenson (hip), DE Aiden Hutchinson (thigh) and C Frank Ragnow (foot) will all be playing this week. The Vikings, though, are without strong safety Harrison Smith (concussion) and backup CB Andrew Smith Jr (quad).
Buffalo’s defense is riddled with injury as the Bills travel to Miami to face the Dolphins. Safety Micah Hyde (neck) is on IR and out for the season. CB Dane Jackson (neck), S Jordan Poyer (foot) LDT Ed Oliver (ankle) and Oliver’s backup Jordan Phillips (hamstring) are all out. Nonetheless, it’s the Bills who are the 5.5-point road chalk. Arizona RB James Conner (ankle) will play for the Cardinals against the Los Angeles Rams.
Cardinals’ RB James Conner, listed as questionable for Sunday due to an ankle injury, will test it pre-game but is tracking to play vs. the Rams, per source.
