The Montreal Canadiens are still alive after stealing the third from New York, but they still need the win this Sunday to even the series, when they visit the Rangers at the Madison Square Garden, at 8 PM ET, in game four of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals.

The victory in game three arrived with drama and an overtime goal that took the air off the Garden.

“To be honest, I have no idea what happened,” Alex Galchenyuk said. “(Plekanec) put it on net and it bounced off my stick or hit me. It went in, and the celebration started from there.”

The Canadiens will go into game four without right wing Brandon Prust, who has been suspended for a late hit on Derek Stepan, who had surgery Friday for a broken jaw.

“It’s fractions of a second,” said Prust, who went before a league hearing. “The NHL deems a hit late at 0.6 seconds and (this hit) was 0.8 seconds. That’s on me. It’s late. My focus was on trying to make a clean body check. Everything about the actual contact is clean. It’s just late.”

The puck line has the Montreal Canadiens as underdogs by 1.5, and the game total was set at 5.  The money line has New York as -171 and the Montreal +151.

The NY Rangers are 5-1 SU in their last 6 games, and 6-13 SU in their last 19 games when playing Montreal. The total has gone UNDER in 7 of the NY Rangers last 9 games when playing Montreal.
