It doesn’t look like the Boston Bruins are quite getting the respect they deserve despite owning the best record in the NHL through the first month of the season. They visit the rival Maple Leafs on Saturday, November 5th with puck drop scheduled at 7:00 pm ET for a game that can be seen on CBC and Sportsnet.

Although Toronto has struggled out of the gate with the media questioning whether it’s time to fire the coach and general manager, the Maple Leafs have still been made -129 home favorites against the league-leading Bruins.

It’s a bit surprising considering the way both teams have played so far. Let’s take a peak at all the Bruins vs Maple Leafs odds below while giving you our best bet for this game and prediction.

The over/under total is set at 6.5 goals. Interestingly enough, the Leafs have gone under the total in seven of their 10 games so far this season after finishing last year as the second-highest-scoring team in the league.

Bruins Keep Winning Despite Underdog Odds

Can you believe that this will be the third game in a row that the Bruins are underdogs? Have the oddsmakers not noticed that their record is 10-1-0! Boston is coming off back-to-back road victories as the supposed weaker team to the Rangers and the Penguins.

They’ve shown they can win all kinds of ways this year, with a perfect example of that as underdogs in their amazing 6-5 comeback win against the Penguins earlier this week. At one point, they were down 5-2 before rallying to send it to overtime where Hampus Lindholm emerged as the hero.

When a team is going like Boston is, every player is contributing in their own way, but there is no doubt pending unrestricted free agent, David Pastrnak is leading the way. The Bruins winger is third in the NHL in scoring and has eight goals so far, making him a strong contender in the Rocket Richard Trophy odds.

Maple Leafs Home Favorites in Saturday NHL Odds

It hasn’t exactly been an ideal start to the season for the Leafs with some in the media already calling for changes. This for a team that’s one of the strong early favorites in the Stanley Cup odds.

They’re coming off a much-needed 5-2 victory against the Flyers, which ended a four-game losing skid. Captain John Tavares led the way in that one, scoring a hatrick. Auston Matthews has also come to life of late, scoring in three of his last four after netting just once in his first seven games.

One win isn’t enough to make believers out of the fervent fan base though. Home has been kind to the Buds this season, as they’re 4-1-0 at Scotiabank Arena, which has to be a huge reason they’re favorites in the Saturday NHL odds.

Bruins vs Maple Leafs Same-Game Parlay Picks

Pick Odds
Over 6.5 Goals -134
William Nylander Anytime Goal Scorer +170
David Pastrnak Anytime Goal Scorer +102
PARLAY ODDS  +600

Last season, every meeting between these two sides went over. Although the Leafs haven’t been scoring up to expectation so far this year, they’ve hit the over in each of their last two contests while peppering opposing goalies with 80 combined shots in those games.

Pastrnak has 10 goals in his last nine games vs the Maple Leafs, finding the net in eight of those contests.

Bruins vs Leafs Pick & Prediction

The Maple Leafs actually swept all three games against their nemesis last year, outscoring the Bruins 16-8 in those three meetings. It’s actually been almost three years since Boston defeated the Leafs.

At some point, Boston will need to lose some games and this might be a perfect opportunity for the Leafs to pounce, but until the Bruins show some mortality, we’re not comfortable betting against them just yet. Especially, since the Leafs are the chalk in the betting odds.

Instead, the safest pick here is to go with over 6.5 goals. The Bruins have hit the over seven times in 11 games this season and the Leafs have started to find their offense, so our prediction is over 6.5 goals in the Bruins vs Maple Leafs odds on Saturday night.

Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-134)
