Start time is set for 7:30pm ET at Madison Square Garden, with all the action televised on ESPN+ and Hulu.

The Rangers have emerged as slim -130 favorites on the Thursday NHL odds, while Boston lags as a +130 bet to extend their win streak, and the total is pegged at 6.0.

Bruins vs Rangers Recent History

Thursday night’s matchup marks the first of three regular-season meetings between these divisional leaders. The Rangers took two of three from the Bruins last season, including a narrow 2-1 victory in their lone home date on February 15, and have earned the win in four of their past six overall clashes with the Bruins.

Low scoring has been commonplace when these teams meet. The total has topped 5.0 just three times in their past 13 tilts, fueling a steady 10-3-0 run for the UNDER in puck totals betting. Home teams earned the win in each of their past two dates. However, home-ice advantage has been largely meaningless in head-to-head action, with road teams in seven of their previous 10 meetings.

Boston Bruins Betting Outlook

The Bruins have emerged as one of the big surprises of the season during their impressive 9-1-0 start. Facing concerns about injuries to their blueline corps and an unproven bottom six entering the campaign, Boston has silenced naysayers with dominant performances at both ends of the ice.

The Boston offense has gotten off to a ferocious start, averaging a league-best 4.40 goals per game, and has averaged five goals per game both on the road and in their past three overall outings. David Pastrnak has led the assault with seven goals and 11 assists, and currently ranks third in league scoring. However, the elite winger has only bulged the twine three times in his past 12 dates with the Rangers.

Linus Ullmark has also been sensational in the Bruins crease. The 29-year-old veteran has compiled an impressive 2.20 goals against average and .932 save percentage during a 7-0-0 start. Ullmark has also limited the Rangers to two or fewer goals in four of six career appearances. But after allowing all five goals in Tuesday’s win over Pittsburgh, he may enjoy a night off in favor of backup Jeremy Swayman.

New York Rangers Betting Outlook

The Rangers needed overtime to eke out a 1-0 win over the Flyers on Tuesday. But the lacking of scoring was not due to a lack of effort or opportunities. New York shooters peppered Philly netminder with 36 shots and outshot the Flyers by a 6-0 margin in the extra frame, With that performance, the team has not outshot opponents seven times during their 6-3-2 start, and currently lead all teams in total shots on goal.

That effort has paid off during their current three-game surge, in which the Rangers have outscored opponents by a wide 10-5 margin. That marks a major change in fortune after the club mustered just five total goals during a preceding four-game slide.

The club has been getting offensive contributions from up and down the roster, with 12 different players finding the back of the net so far, and four players potting four or more goals. Mika Zibanejad has led the way with six goals, and rides a three-game points streak, during which he has scored twice and added three helpers. However, he has scored just two total points and no assists in his past 10 home appearances against Boston.

Bruins vs Rangers Prediction

By far the marquee matchup of the week, little separates these two teams on the Thursday NHL odds for good reason. With both these clubs enjoying both steady offensive production and stingy netminding, this contest is unlikely to be decided until late. And given the Bruins red-hot start, it is hard to ignore their attractive positive odds.

The Pick: Bruins (+110); OVER 6.0 (-110)
