Devils vs Bruins Odds

Team Puck Line Total Moneyline
New Jersey Devils +1.5 (-165) O 6 (-110) +115
Boston Bruins -1.5 (+140) U 6 (-110) -135

Boston dropped to -135 on the moneyline while New Jersey is now at +115 . Game totals backed off from 6.5 to 6 with the news of Charlie McAvoy’s “load management” along with David Krejci and Taylor Hall. Keep an eye to see who plays, but expect Boston to be shorthanded.

Stanley Cup odds shortened a bit more. New Jersey backed off from +1250 in March to +1150 currently. The Devils are just outside the top five. The favorite Boston Bruins roll in at +380 with a range of +350 to +425 depending on the site.

Now, these two teams gear up for a big faceoff on Saturday from Boston.

Puck drop is scheduled for 8:00pm ET at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The game is broadcasted on ABC.

New Jersey Chasing Some History

New Jersey’s rise this season can be traced back to two things. More stability on defense and goaltending helps, but consistently attacking on offense has paid huge dividends. This Devils team is on the verge of some franchise history.

With Dawson Mercer and the offense showing signs of heating up, Boston is in for quite a battle on Saturday. New Jersey comes off consecutive wins where they scored 13 goals and allowed only two. Now, that is what makes New Jersey dangerous. Again, there are some records to chase as well. New Jersey’s franchise records for wins (51) and points (111) are very much up for grabs as the regular season winds down.

Will the scoring chances start finally going in during crucial moments against Boston, however? New Jersey dropped five straight games to Boston. After losing a home-and-home around Christmas to the Bruins. Lindy Ruff quipped “this Devils team is not on their level and frankly no team is now”.

Vitek Vanecek expects to start for New Jersey on Saturday night. The Vezina Trophy is not in his future but likely is for Linus Ullmark. However, Vanecek shows an ability to rise up to the moment. Can the Devils’ offense show they are ready for primetime?

Boston’s Historic Run Nears Records Of Its Own

Behind a four-game winning streak, the Boston Bruins stand on the precipice of some history of their own. Now, the Bruins have 61 wins on the season. They surpassed their franchise records for wins and points. In the 1970-71 season, Boston amassed 57 wins and 121 points.

The Bruins approach league records which seemed unlikely to ever reach in this era. Montreal remained the gold standard for best regular season with 132 points in 80 games. With one more victory, Boston would tie the 1995-96 Detroit and 2018-19 Tampa Bay franchises for most-ever regular season wins.

While Charlie McAvoy and even Hampus Lindholm should be considered for the Norris Trophy race, they will not. However, Boston’s defense helps carry them to a league-best +121 goal differential.

While Boston slipped back in some metrics (SRS dropped from 1.73 to 1.54), they are ranked statistically the best in the NHL by a decent margin.

Devils vs Bruins Prediction

Both teams are streaking again which makes this quite a fun game to watch. This game gets top ABC prime exposure, has star power, and there is a feeling New Jersey wants to make some history of its own.

Devils vs Bruins Same-Game Parlay Picks

Pick Odds
Boston Moneyline -135
Under 6 Goals -110
PARLAY ODDS  +232

The game expects to feel a good deal like a playoff game of the last year or two. Expect tons of pace, scoring chances, and maybe some goals too.

New Jersey needs to stay out of the penalty box, but so does Boston. The good news for both teams is only a couple of games remain before the playoffs begin.

Pick: Boston Bruins In Regulation (+115)
