Penguins Finish Off Devils
The Penguins will look to complete a series sweep of the Devils on Saturday. Pittsburgh won the opener by a 7-6 score Tuesday before turning in a much more complete effort in a 5-1 victory Thursday.
The Penguins have won six of their last eight games and are now within one point of the Washington Capitals for first place in the East Division. The Devils, meanwhile, have fallen completely out of the playoff race and suffered eight consecutive losses.

This is a tale of two teams going in different directions, and there’s value betting on the team that still has something to play for. Not only have the Pens won four straight against New Jersey, but they’re one of the league’s best teams on home ice with an 18-3-2 record.
The Devils are without top defenseman PK Subban (COVID protocols) and starting goalie MacKenzie Blackwood (upper body), which is reason to bet the Pens on the puckline. Jersey has given up at least five goals in eight of their past 11 games, and goalies Scott Wedgewood and Aaron Dell both own save percentages below .900.

Leafs and Jets Cash ‘Over’
The Maple Leafs and Jets are set to deliver more offensive fireworks Saturday night after Toronto won by a 5-3 score Thursday. These are two of the top offensive teams in the NHL, with the Leafs averaging 3.28 goals-per-game and the Jets averaging 3.20.
Toronto has a six-point lead on Winnipeg atop the North Division standings, but their defensive play has been worrisome. Toronto has allowed at least three goals in seven straight games and goalie Jack Campbell has come back down to earth after beginning his Maple Leafs career with an 11-game winning streak.
Winnipeg is going to be hungry for revenge Saturday, and they’ll have a favorable special teams matchup. The Jets’ stacked power play is ranked fourth in the NHL and will be going up against the Leafs’ 27th ranked penalty kill. There were only three total penalties handed out in Thursday’s game, which is something that should change for the rematch.
The Leafs have scored eight goals in their past two games and got a boost on the second line with Nick Foligno making his Toronto debut. Toronto has fared well against WPG goalie Connor Hellebuyck, who was pulled Thursday and owns a lackluster 3.16 GAA in 15 career starts against the Leafs.
