The weekend is here which means there are plenty of sports to wager on, including at the Tokyo Olympics. A mediocre day on Friday in the medal department saw the USA’s lead atop the overall standings trimmed to two, while they fell even further behind China in the gold medal department.
Caeleb Dressel is a near lock to pull them at least one gold medal closer, as he is a massive favorite in the pool to win the 100 meter Butterfly.
Men’s 100 Meter Butterfly Odds
Athlete | Odds |
---|---|
Caeleb Dressel (USA) | -1200 |
Kristof Milak (HUN) | +450 |
Josif Miladinov (BUL) | +3500 |

Odds as of July 30th at DraftKings.
The American is the world record holder in the event, and has broken the Olympic record twice already in Tokyo, in the opening heat and in the semifinal. He’s the only swimmer in history to break the 50 second mark in the event, and has done so three times.

Of course Olympic records are nothing new to Dressel, as he set a new mark in the 100 meter Freestyle earlier this week.
Hungary’s Kristof Milak, the 200 meter Butterfly gold medalist is the only swimmer in oddsmakers’ eyes with the slightest chance of challenging Dressel, but even he checks in with +450 odds. That should tell you everything you need to know about who’s expected to take home gold on Saturday.
Pick: Caeleb Dressel (-1200)
Women’s Tennis Gold Medal Odds
Athlete | Odds |
---|---|
Belinda Bencic (SUI) | -205 |
Marketa Vondrousova (CZE) | +170 |
The Women’s Tennis final is certainly not a matchup most experts would have predicted. However, both Belinda Bencic and Marketa Vondrousova are playing at an elite level in Tokyo, and if their only previous meeting is any indication, we should be in for a treat.
The two played a 2-hour and 24-minute thriller earlier this year in Miami, with Vondrousova emerging victorious. Bencic checks in with a much higher world ranking (12 vs 42) but has been pushed to the brink in three straight matches, needing a third set in each to advance. The 24-year-old will be looking to win Switzerland’s first Olympic singles gold medal since 1992, while Vondrousova has already guaranteed the Czech Republic it’s best Olympic singles medal ever.

While Bencic was on court for 2-hours and 44 minutes in the semis, Vondrousova needed just 15 games to dispatch No. 4 seed Elina Svitolina.
This match is much closer than the odds suggest, and you’re getting solid value by betting Vondrousova at +170. Sure, she’s only 1-3 lifetime in finals, but she should be fresher, and has been exceeding expectations all week. In addition to her semifinal blowout, she also cruised past No. 2 seed Naomi Osaka 6-1, 6-4 in the quarters.
Pick: Marketa Vondrousova (+170)
Women’s Rugby 7’s Odds

France and Great Britain will square off on Saturday for the right to play for gold in Women’s Rugby 7’s. The French side has had the more convincing path to the semis, posting a perfect 4-0 record, while outscoring their opposition by 87 points.

Great Britain on the other hand, bounced back from an early loss to the favorites from New Zealand, by routing Kenya and defeating the U.S. 21-12 in the quarters.
Oddsmakers expect a tight battle, but France should be given the edge. They’ve conceded only four tries all tournament and should have fresher legs. While Great Britain has been pushed to the brink in three of its four matches, France has outscored their opponents 95-15 over their last three outings.
Pick: France -2.5 (-105)
