The NASCAR series gears up for the All-Star Race this Saturday, which will take place at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The cars will start revving their engines at 5:00 p.m. ET.  Kyle Busch didn’t finish in the top 10 for the first time all season last week. Can he rebound this week or is someone else a better bet?

Denny Hamlin Should Do Well

Hamlin looks like he fits the profile for this race as he typically does quite well at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Of course, this race will be different since it consists of just 85 laps, but track history is still a factor.

He won the All-Star Race in 2015 and has placed in the top 10 in 13 of his last starts here. That includes each of his last five starts here. He’ll be a threat to win outright and a decent bet to finish in the top 10 again.

Could This Be the Week for Jimmie Johnson?

While Kyle Busch is the favorite, there isn’t much value there after he placed 30th last week. He hasn’t really been competitive for a few weeks now. It’s not as if Johnson has been waving around the checkered flag either, but at least the payout is there. He’s an appealing second-tier option.

While Johnson has yet to win a race this season, he has eight wins in 34 career starts at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. He is the only driver to win this race in back-to-back seasons. Considering he is coming off his best finish of the season after placing sixth at Kansas, this could be the week he gets his win.

Erik Jones for a Top 10

Jones might not have the car to win this race outright but he should be in the mix at the Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race this weekend. Also still searching for his first victory of the year, Jones is coming off a pair of impressive finishes, placing sixth at Dover and third at Kansas over his last two Monster Energy starts.

If Jones can build on that momentum, he should find a way to keep himself in the mix at Charlotte this Saturday.

Pass on Brad Keselowski

There will be a ton of hype surrounding Keselowski following his impressive victory at Kansas last week. However, it won’t be easy to deliver back-to-back wins. Keselowski’s victory in Kansas marked just his second top 10 finish in his last four starts overall.

The fact that he has won the Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race only once in 18 career starts should also be somewhat concerning for bettors. He’s obviously been one of the top drivers in NASCAR this season but this will be one week where we avoid him.
